i just found out the BST to IST and i saved myself by uploading my submission in time, cuz 10pm bst is 2.30am in India. i’ll be sleeping to that time lol.

Joining in on the fun. My concept explores the use of light as an artistic medium, similar to how the Nothing team utilise it as a communication tool between device and user. Don’t by shy to zoom-in and enjoy all the textural details I’ve added.

Hey Guys, I’m Akash and I’m an Illustrator from Delhi, India.

Here’s my submission for the Nothing Phone 2a community edition.

The inspiration I took it from the phone character itself since the first time I saw the phone and the (Fresh Eyes) concept. I had this idea in mind to integrate the eyes in the front of the phone.

So, doing a wallpaper submission is a great way for me to show you guys what I’ve been thinking.

My idea is to add a little bit more character to the phone in a fun way

As we all know that with ‘Nothing’ we want to make tech fun again.

But at the same time I wanted the wallpapers to be interactive but simple enough to the consumer.

My idea with the fresh eyes is to show ‘emotions’ whenever you open the phone ‘Fresh Eyes’ are here to greet you.

We can also integrate the eyes with specific scenarios like

If the phone is low on battery the eyes will be in ‘rest mode’

And when the battery is full enough the wallpaper will indicate with a ‘happy face’ and will let us know.

    Hello everyone, does anyone know how long it takes to get approval for my entry? I just managed to get it done and I handed it in last night. So I’m just a bit nervous to see if I will get approved before the deadline?

      Rob ⚡️ I’ve been trying to send for an hour but I still get a 404 error. Even logging out and logging in continuously doesn’t solve the problem… How can I get you my wallpapers?

          Valerio G. @Rob ⚡️ Not sure if I’m receiving the same 404 error, but some of my images (moodboards) are not updating. I’m left with a cog wheel surrounded by arrows. My other photos are added though, so I’m not sure what the difference is…

              Rmck066 I submitted a couple of days ago and just took 5 minutes to get approved (the confirmation email arrived 30 mins later tho).

              As far as I know the approval process is done manually, and probably I got lucky to be reviewed soon, but don t get nervous, you should get an answer before the deadline.

                  Rob ⚡️ Hello Rob, I tried sharing my submission to friends to let them see my wallpapers, and what it happens is:

                  they are prompted to login -> they do -> they are prompted to “participate” to stage 2 -> and then they can see the whole gallery.

                  I guess it is just because the submissions are still open, but I would like to get some confirmation by you.

                      martinmtnguyen I’m not sure if your describing the same problem I ran into but I found out that I had to add them individually rather than grouped. If I tried to add more than one at once it seems to grey the photo with a cog picture replacing it.

                          Mirko_ddd Yes, I believe if someone is already logged in that share URL should work. After login it seems users are taken to the ‘homepage’ of the competition, would advise them to use the search bar in the gallery to find you in the meantime, thanks for sharing your experience - we’ll look into it.

                            Rmck066 Interesting, I did add the one at a time, but I will try again and resubmit. One of my images has the cog picture, but it gives me the option to delete. Another image has the cog picture as well, but has been uploading for a bit long haha

                            EDIT: It’s still stuck at “Processing…” Maybe it’s too large? The photo is 27MB, although total it is still less then 500. odd lol

                                martinmtnguyen Yeah that is strange. Sorry I couldn’t help you out. Just keep trying and maybe remove them all then refresh the page and try again. I hope you can get your design in. 👌
