Phone (2a) is not charging despite showing otherwise

Hi everyone, I was trying to find a thread about it but couldn’t so I decided to write about this issue.

Yesterday I plugged the USB cable from the charger to my phone and it showed that it was charging even though at the time the charger wasn’t plugged in. When I plugged in the charger nothing changed, the battery symbol was still showing as being charged but I noticed the percentage was going down. When I entered locked screen the usual info about charging at the bottom was not there. I rebooted the phone and tried again, it worked fine this time. I am however worried that it may be happening in the future and if I don’t notice it, the battery may die during the night. Has anyone experienced anything like that and maybe found a solution? Chris Same problem with NP 2a , with SAMSUNG 45 watt charger.

sent multiple mails to support team , gave few tips , factory reset etc. then went to service centre- not useful.

for 3 months it was fantastically charging , thwn problem started, but every time i restart ,it worked fine but after some time ,it shows charging rapidly without charger plugging in , and when i plug in the chager it is not charging.

they have to fix it via software update.

Since the restart seems to have cleared this for now, it’s best to keep an eye on it going forward.

Should this happen again I recommend reporting your feedback via settings > system > feedback or reaching out to the support team for further guidance.

Hi. The Nothing charger isn’t charging my Nothing Phone 2a. The charger and the phone are both brand new. Received both day before yesterday and Today respectively. I’m not getting any indication when I connect the phone to the charger. I tried restarting too but it did not work. However, it is charging slowly with my OnePlus 6’s charger. Any help on this would be appreciated.

am facing the same issue , other brand phones its charging , but for nothing 2a its just showing charging symbol but for past 3hrs the percentage of charge has not changed even by 1%

i never used this charger set with other phones , just to check if there is any issue i used it to other phone and its charging

Hello nothing i am also facing a weird problem regarding charging, when i charge my phone, the phone charging blinks like it is turning on and off. I thought it may be because of voltage fluctuation…but that wasn’t the case too and I did try to restart the problem, but it remained the same…The most frustrating and irritating part is when I just left on the charge thinking it might resolve after 2-3 days but the screen won’t turn off like it is obvious that the phone is charging and recharging on its own. and one more thing I use a back case so I tried to charge after removing the case too but the problem remains the same…can you please look into this matter or just give me some suggestions or directions to solve it on my own?

And when I am telling you this I have shared a suggestion that if any application which is in the game mode..during the whole game mode the phone wont decrease the brightness..becuse while playing game it become an irritation.

I recently bought (last week) nothing Phone 2a as well as Nothing 45W charger, when I plug in my phone into the charger it shows ‘charging rapidly’ but the battery percentage decreases with time !

I tried to charge my friend’s OnePlus phone with Nothing 45W charger & his OnePlus phone charges with Nothing 45W charger without any issue.

Any Solutions ?

Hey , I am having this same issue , don’t know whats the problem whether its hardware or software

I have original nothing adapter and cable and this charger connection disconnection occurs intermittently .

Please fix this

Hi , i had the same problem. Its because of the faulty counterfeit adapters by third party , my issue was despite charging for 30mins, the battery percentage remains same though the charging indicator shows “charging rapidly”, but when i plugged into my old 25 watt samsung pd adapter, it charged from 75 to 100 in 10mins, so i ordered a samsung 25 watt pd charger and the nothings original 45w charger was overpriced in filpkart.

I am also facing the issue from last year. They were not optimised nothing phone 2a charging. And they always says to check the cable and adapter. They are not willing to admit that there is an issue in charging
