Friends,

As busy as you can guess today is, I just wouldn’t let it go without sharing some personal thoughts with you.

By now you should already know everything there is to know about ear (1), its specs and features. If you don’t the team and myself have had the honor to introduce the first ever Nothing product right here [link to keynote].

But there is more to ear (1) than this. A list of specs for sound and battery life wouldn’t do justice to the all-nighters, hard work and passion we’ve invested to be able to present our first baby to you today.

In all honesty, it’s been tough. Today, we are somehow launching a company, a brand and our first product at the same time. The team is growing day by day and just as you were slowly learning about ear (1), we have been learning about each other, too. Often remotely, trying to cross the bridge between cultures, time zones and lifestyles.

But mostly, it has been thrilling: witnessing our vision coming to life, holding the very first ear (1) samples in our hands… There are emotions that can hardly be put into words. The same emotions we are trying to bring back into tech. This is our goal. And you know all about it, since you have decided to take this journey with us.

And it is just the beginning. We’ve never believed in Nothing as much as we do today and we couldn’t be prouder to have you on our side. We will keep involving you, more and more, to be sure we stay true to what got us on this path in the first place.

We’re in it for the long haul, and we hope you are too.

The presentation was excellent and the product even more so - thanks for inviting us on this journey with you. I hope we as a community can contribute to the success of Nothing in a meaningful way - it’s been an exciting journey already, and it’s only just begun!

@Carl I’ve watched the presentation. The product spoke louder than all the words.

It’s the statement needed for a first product; it’s a design that offers friction and smoothness, and when that happens, it can become a statement.

It’s a risk worth taking, to peek behind the curtain - a peek that starts with a stunning unboxing experience. After all the theories, all the speculation, all the breadcrumbs, here we are.

To everyone involved, congratulations & good luck. Now the fun really begins.

Thank you @Carl for taking the time to reach out to the Community, especially after today’s summit.

My sincere congratulations to everyone behind the ear (1) for all the hard work involved in the product. From afar, one can tell that all the minimal details were taken care of with patience, thoroughness and passion.

I am eagerly waiting to reach beyond the product itself, what hides behind the perfected design and the transparency; the sound quality is still a secret.

Wishing you and everyone who is part of Nothing a well-deserved rest. Let’s keep hitting this road!

Thank you @Carl for inviting us on this journey. I would also like to thank everyone who contributed and made Nothing possible: every single person who worked on the brand, the design of Nothing, the keynote, the marketing, and of course on ear (1) itself. I believe you wrote yourselves into history.

From the beginning I felt that Nothing is different. I can’t put it in words, but this feeling was something I’ve never felt before with a company. It was something special, something unique.

The same feeling was present with the announcement of ear (1), only amplified. I have never been this excited for a product in my lifetime. You truly brought back emotions into tech, I can assure you of that, and I am grateful for it. I could feel the mindset and the caring of the people who worked on ear (1) when I saw the final product. It’s astonishing.

Real innovation has been on the brink of extinction recently in technology in my opinion, but I feel like you brought something back that had been long forgotten.

I would like to also thank the attention this community has gotten. The atmosphere that formed here in the past few weeks is unique and singular on the internet. As I’ve mentioned in one of my previous post, this to me feels like a family walking on the same road towards a common goal, together. Thank you for creating such platform.

I am excited for the future of Nothing, and how will You form the future of technology with it. I wish you success on your mission.

Thank you @Carl for making us a part of this journey. The Ear 1’s pricing hits right at the sweet spot and the silicone tips are ❤

You’ve got an amazing team, killing it out in the real world….and I know this is a part of something big 😎

Looking forward to a Nothing Soundbar…I hope it becomes a reality soon™ 😁
(If that actually launches, I want to be the first one to buy it 😛)

@Carl, thank you for including us on this journey as well. As always, you did a fantastic job of explaining the ear (1)

The @nothing team deserves all of the credit for creating a stunning product in such a short span.

Now.. the wait for the Nothing phone has begun.

    Carl

Congratulations on the first baby product. I am so happy and proud to be a part of the community and thank you for making us be a part of this. The presentation was very nice and we know about Carl’s work from OnePlus. I’m looking forward for the product hands on. Cheers to everyone 🙌🥂.

Congratulations on your first product @Carl.

We’re all so happy and proud to be part of nothing. We all resonate with the idea behind nothing and hope nothing stays true to this.

Carl We will keep involving you, more and more, to be sure we stay true to what got us on this path in the first place.

Exactly what I wanted to say. Companies often lose sight of their path, when they try to maximize their sales and see everything in numbers. Instead of making compromises on your products, to increase sales and your shares in the market, please stay true to your path. I’m a OnePlus user, have been from OPO. But the past few years have been heartbreaking to say the least. To see a company you supported, talked, defended and even boasted on around your friends lose its path.

I hope @changename will stay true to it’s path and let technology fade into the background and we, the community members will be here for you guys, if you are open to listen.

I really like the design. It’s special, but it’s also not crazy. I’m usually one to go with the basic black/white when it comes to tech products, but this design caught my eye immediately. Love it.

Can’t wait to try it out soon.

Carl By now you should already know everything there is to know about ear (1), its specs and features. If you don’t the team and myself have had the honor to introduce the first ever Nothing product right here [link to keynote].

Congrats on the launch of your first product. The initial reactions seem to be great, so it really looks you guys got things right.

I have to be honest, the first reaction when I saw the first ear (1) pictures that leaked, wasn’t the best. I guess that because of all this talk about transparency and also the prototype that was released made me expect something different. But after that initial impression, I must say the design has grown on me and really seems it was a great bet.

It has that familiar earphones look that people expect but with a twist that really gives it a original and unique look.

Looking to them, I get that vibe that it was taken from a Sci Fi movie. It kind of reminds me the futuristic look of the I, Robot movie. 😄

Can’t wait wait for the initial reviews to see if you got things right in terms of sound too. 😉

UbaldoOrtiz I just wish I’d heard of Nothing in time to invest. I am thoroughly impressed with today’s presentation. Hope new opportunities do show up in the future

@Carl posted a tweet March 2 saying that “our first community equity opportunity ended in 54 seconds, setting a new record! The demand was way more than we expected, appreciate everyone’s support”.

He ended that message stating that “more opportunities to come in the future…”.
