I was expecting this irritating ‘feature’ to go away after this update, but to my disappointment it is still alive and kicking. Whenever I click a photo from the front camera it always comes out processed like a cheap Chinese phone. This is with hdr and all the gimmicks off.
Does anyone know the solution to this? Or there isn’t one? Also the battery life has seriously taken a hit after the update.
The biggest problem the camera had was the HDR when you took a selfie against the light. Now, if you want, you dsiable HDR and they come out much more natural but you lose background information. Everything is going well for me.

Example of two selfies. In one with HDR activated, it ruins the whites in the background. Since it can be disabled, I am happy.

It might be pre-set adjustments or a 3rd party camera app’s built-in retouching. Try turning off “Beauty Mode” or similar settings in both the stock camera app and any 3rd party apps you use. If that doesn’t work, consider shooting in RAW for full editing control.
