I’ve an issue where bass heavy tracks distort quite badly when using LDAC with my Pixel phone. The same FLAC track played with hi-def turned off in the Nothing-X app sounds fine.
You might argue that I should turn it down, but here’s the thing, I’m running at an average volume of about 33%, I have Bass Enhance turned off and even if I use a custom EQ with the bass slider all the way to -6 I still can hear the distortion. It’s highly distracting and makes me want to not use the ear (a)'s.
I’m pretty certain it’s not the driver because of the above, so it’s potentially a firmware/software/phone thing - but I don’t have any other LDAC capable headphones to rule the phone out.
A track that’s super obviously distorting is ‘Under the Influence’ by the Chemical Brothers. I’m using a 44/16 FLAC so I don’t know if that is a contributor.
