Aditya I think there are two options for OS3.0 release.

  1. NothingOS 3.0 will launch with the Phone 3, as was the case with NOS2.0 with Phone 2. Mostly because Phone 3 being the flagship would need to launch with key software features. Best to align your major software iteration with your hardware flagship launch.
  2. NothingOS3.0 will launch as Nothing’s Android 15 iteration. And from here on out, numerical iterations of NothingOS will align with the iterations of Android. Unlike what we had before, wherein Android 14 was released NothingOS2.5 and not as an iterative update. This would provide an opportunity to align both Android feature updates as well as Nothing Feature updates together.

I personally think option 2 is the more likelier of the two to happen. Mainly because of the fact that Phone 3 won’t be out until atleast spring 2025, which will by then be almost 2 full years since Nothing’s previous major OS release. Nothing will probably want to bring out a major release before that. Also, there’s the task of rolling out the Android 15 update. So why not align them both as they won’t be releasing a flagship this year.

    No one “makes” me do anything on this Community forum. My own enthusiasm for the Nothing brand keeps me engaged here and enjoy the conversation with the Community.

    As such, I tend to take note of the crumbs we get via social media and I am merely recalling those facts, in answer to your previous question(s) and to aid the thread from what the Original Poster put.

      JeffreyLopez all this will make the software very heavy and maybe difficult to manage for a rather short team.

            What do you expect from NOS3.0 or A15? Why do you need it so bad?

              Really, adding a photo gallery and a music app, will slow the process, there focusing to much on thing that will not be used.

              Im not playing with the lights, so they can stop updating that, all I want from a phone is good speed, fast data movement, the best camera, and no Google or other companies that leak or shears information to the government.

                Aditya Yes, these people buy Nothing, and asking to turn into ColorOS. Later they also will say, “Nothing is not like how it used to be. I say good bye.”

                  There’s no Android 15 even for the new Google Pixels yet lol. NOS 3.0 will be based on Android 15, so the latter should be announced first (the first stable build for Pixels I mean)

                  I think that we will get it close to the end of the year somewhere between NOV-DEC.
