MarkP I’m pretty sure you can’t go backwards. Have you got a more powerful charger and the cable properties make a difference too. Try different cables on the most powerful charger you can get. I’m just trying to help I don’t have any agency to actually do anything. 🙏👍

I would appreciate more if nothing just replace google photos with N gallery and google keep to N notes

and about Chat gpt … I like Microsoft copilot answers more than chat gpt… because it’s used in many top corporate offices for work … and life makes easy with Microsoft office apps.

With mladen hoyss now leaving nothing, I can only hope the great team at nothing continue with the overall vision. I’ve always loved the simplicity, black and white theming. Main reasons I left apple to nothing. I have confidence in the team and wish them all the best. Any announcement on who will now lead the software team?

Your posts about Nothing OS 4.0, the cake analogy, and the whole update process have been super inspiring. The direction Nothing (and CMF) is taking – minimal yet powerful, hardware-software harmony, and now AI-native features – is exactly the kind of innovation I want to be part of.

KalpeshSalunkhe I have one question about the Nothing Phone. It has Essential Space, and I’m not using it for voice notes. I only use it to save links, quotes, and poetry. Is Essential Space free for this purpose?

Totally agree this update landed way smoother than I expected. I was convinced OS 3.0 would slip into January, so seeing it drop right before the holidays was a great surprise.

The vibration and haptics fixes were long overdue. Having custom ringtone/notification vibration actually work again is such a relief, even if the Glyph selection still seems buggy. The new vibration strength slider is subtle, but honestly just having any control is a big step up from the dead-feeling motor we had before.

I’ve also noticed the same inconsistency with keyboard haptics. Right after the update it felt tighter and quieter, then after a reboot it went straight back to the old OS 2.6 feel. Definitely hoping Nothing fine-tunes that in a minor patch.

The charging limit feature is a huge win something we’ve been asking for since the Phone (1), so it’s great to finally see it baked into the system.

As for the UI, it’s nice that the classic N-Dot clock and font weren’t removed. The new styles look good, but keeping the option for the original identity is appreciated. And the reworked quick settings + widget menu is honestly one of the most polished parts of OS 3.0.

I had the same experience with the smart drawer: not bad, but still not as intuitive as manually organizing apps. It gets some categories right (it also nailed my EV-related stuff), but then completely misplaces others in weird buckets like “Lifestyle”. I switched back too.

And yeah, the Nothing Gallery rollout has been… odd. Releasing it to OS 2.6 users with no announcement, no Camera app integration, and missing basic features makes it feel unfinished. For a “stable” OS release, it’s surprising how limited the gallery still is. It has potential, but right now it feels more like an early beta slipped into the Play Store.

Overall OS 3.0 is a strong update, but the Gallery situation and some small inconsistencies definitely need attention in the next patch.
If anyone’s looking for a clean example of how other companies publicly present product info or menu-style layouts, starbucks-menu.co.uk is actually a simple, easy-to-follow reference for structured content — even though it’s not an official site. Something like that level of clarity and organization would help Nothing’s own rollout pages feel more complete.
