viday5979 idk about the settings you use for shooting photos but I have to say that even professional photographers usually edit their photos, so just edit yours on 3(a). I’ve done it with any phone I had, even the flagship🤷🏼‍♀️ especially when Nothing added an editing tools in a gallery

Hello. Switched to nothing because I wanted to support the brand. After trying my friends CMF Phone 2 pro, mind you NO shutter lag there, I spent the extra buck and bought 3a. While most things work fine the camera is a mess. I can’t take pictures of my kids unless they stand still.

Now I need to live with pictures of my kids while they look like ghosts flying through time.

If nothing can make CMF Phone Pro 2 without any shutter lag you must be able to optimise the phone 3a too surely? I’m truly disappointed at the moment and I really hope you fix this soon or I’ll have to change to another brand.

I got my phone just today, I was excited to test my new nothing phone 3a. It came with nothing OS 3.0 after clicking 3 pictures I updated into nothing OS 3.1. ( it hasn’t got nothing OS 3.2 update yet, don’t know why) . When I click the pictures it’s great but when it comes to the video section the ultrawide and the main lens is performing poorly ( 2x is okay). The video quality is not great at all. Please tell me what to do and did any of you get nothing OS 3.2 update on your nothing phone 3A. I will attach some videos below

please check : the first 2 videos are recorded in 1080p (30fps) ( the low quality video is from ultrawide) and 3rd video is recorded with 1080p ( 60 fps ) , there is zoom in and zoom out effect when the camera is moved from left to right , you may see that in above videos .

This is recorded in 4k (30 fps) , you can clearly see the zoom in and out effect while going from right to left .

Please tell me what to do and when will I get the nothing go OS 3.2 update ?

This is my second device of nothing.now iam using nothing 3a but both the phones have same issue like,camera and galary app shutter and lags.please try to fix it

I’ve bought this phone nearly a month ago but i have noticed that the camera UI is very laggy while taking portrait photos and while opening images after taking photo!! Can anyone give me any solution regarding this? I have also disabled ram booster but it didn’t help much.

I request you @Firmware (bot) to please improve the camera in the next update. The camera color tuning is just worse it doesn’t even show close to natural colors.

ParthChhabra_qUqpjHBIs0 Default mode, when set to auto, is indeed quite terrible. But there are quick and easy fixes while we wait them to fix the Default:

when using Default, tap on lighter parts around wherever you want to focus to fix auto-exposure that way
use Expert mode (it has basically no issues, works great and a camera is a proper beast in that mode, it’s also significantly faster - no shutter lag at all)
set EV to -0.3 for default
create your own LUT and use that to snap photos

Default/Photo is plain unusable because… Actually I’ll repeat my previous comment on that matter as I’m lazy to snap the same photo(s) with the same issue(s) again:

Anonymous931 mean yeah, those photos look great but they are definitely not natural at all, and by far the most annoying issue is with skin colour because it gets to be basically orange. Then again, some other times it’s all perfectly good so… 🤷‍♂️ Toggling “HDR” on or off in camera settings makes no difference, same with “Auto tone”. Just take a look at my arm here and you’ll know what I mean:

That is most definitely not how my arm and skin look like, the tree in the background is certainly not viper-green either, nor my watch is THAT red, lol. HDR off, Auto tone off.

For comparison, when I use my cheap and old entry level Redmi 10C I get this, which is almost 100% accurate to how I see it all with my own eyes:

Almost 3x cheaper phone [when it was new, obviously] from 2022 snaps better photos both in sharpness and colour accuracy than the new and realistically far better 3a with NOS 3.1 🙃

So that [all the problems with the 3a camera] is all with “PHOTO” being used to snap photos. However (!), when I pick “EXPERT” all, and I mean it literally all, those problems with image post-processing are gone and photos are near damn perfect (and they look more-less identical as the second photo in this comment). Meaning that the issue is fixable if it happens with the same camera app in one case but not in the other case.

When I switch to the main Camera, I notice a colour shift. However, the wide and telephoto lens have similar colours. Is it possible for this issue to be resolved??

Anonymous931 what i also do in default camera mode is disable auto color correction hdr and ultra xdr, the images look way better without al that processing

I tried to off auto HDR option but whenever i tried to restart the app the auto HDR option automatically turnning on by itself. There should be 3 option
1. Auto HDR
2. Always on HDR

3. Always off HDR
Also the processing of HDR photos in indoor lighting is very bad.

Worst thing about the 3a camera is the shutter speed… try taking a photo of something moving a bit. After processing a few seconds later the entire photo shifts into something else.

I tend to use GCam now to take photos of my daughter - it’s pretty much instant without the processing lag that ruins the photo.

Only version I have found that works on the 3a to a satisfactory level is this one:

I’ve tried countless GCam ports and this is the only one that seems to produce a good quality image (details/sharpness) similar to Stock). I disable Auto White Balance though as it looks more lifelike with it off

GCam HDR is also better… attached two photos. 1st darker one is stock, 2nd is GCam. Both are just point and click without any editing… it also gives better skintone
