It’s been almost two weeks since I started noticing an unusual battery drain on my phone. My usage is extremely moderate, just basic social media and emails. I don’t play games or use the camera frequently, or do any heavy, task-oriented work. Still, the battery drains very quickly.
To be specific, as I mentioned in my previous post, my phone loses about 30–40% in just around 2 hours when on a 5G connection, with *no* Always-On Display, Bluetooth, or other extras running. Initially, I thought maybe one of my apps was causing the problem or there might be some malware.
So, I went to the service center and waited the whole day to explain the situation. They suggested doing a factory reset since a faulty battery is rare. I went ahead with the reset (lost some data in the process), came back home, and for a while thought the problem might be fixed.
But no, the issue persisted. Now, the phone only lasts about 6 hours on light usage. For comparison, I’ve seen people on YouTube get 8–10 hours even with gaming. To troubleshoot further, I even uninstalled Instagram and stopped using YouTube — but the drain is still happening.
For example, while typing this post, I lost 2% battery in about 5 minutes (stable 5G connection). That’s unbelievable. To make things worse, my old phone performs far better than this one.
So, community, what should I do next? Should I go back to the service center and tell them about this? The apps was never an issue before, so I’m really not sure what to do… Should I Stop using phone to save battery 🥲
