Design & Build – 8/10
CMF continues to stand out with its unique design. The phone feels great in hand and offers functional modular accessories (hopefully available soon). However, build quality is just average, and Panda Glass, while decent, doesn’t offer top-tier protection.
Display – 9/10
The 6.77” flat AMOLED panel delivers an excellent viewing experience. Highlights include symmetrical bezels, solid brightness, great color accuracy, and 2160Hz PWM dimming. Bezels are slightly thicker than some competitors, but that’s not that big of a deal.
Software – 8/10
This is where CMF shines in this price segment. Clean, smooth, and smartly designed, the OS offers 3 years of Android updates and 6 years of security patches. “Essential Space” is a clever touch too. However, the lack of polished first party apps and the occasional buggy updates should also be considered.
Battery & Charging – 5/10
Battery life is phenomenal. It can be easily for 2 days on light to medium usage.
It’s easily one of the strongest points of this phone. But the charging is painfully slow which it shouldn’t be.
There are some issues going on with the charging speeds currently which hopefully get fixed in the future.
Haptics, Speakers & others – 5/10
Haptics are class leading with good refinement, but everything else here is a mixed bag. Call quality and data speeds are average, the IP rating is also just fine and the speakers are extremely bad for a phone in this price range.
Performance – 6/10
Daily use is smooth, and the phone handles multitasking well. But if you’re into gaming or heavy tasks, you’ll notice limitations due to UFS 2.2 and a mid-range chipset. CMF still needs some optimization here especially in gaming.
Camera – 6/10
It’s a versatile triple-camera setup, and the telephoto lens does a decent job with zoom and video. However, inconsistent color science, lack of OIS, slow shutter response, and underwhelming ultrawide/selfie performance bring it down. Still, it shows potential of getting better with future updates but currently there are better options.
Final Verdict – 6.5/10
After 28 days of usage, the CMF Phone 2 Pro stands out as a unique offering under ₹20,000. It nails the design, offers promising software, great battery life. However, it struggles to deliver a complete experience in key areas like performance, charging, speakers, and camera polish.
