Not receiving Google Play system updates after factory reset - Phone (2a)

Hallo allerseits, Vor ein paar Tagen musste ich mein __term_0__ Telefon 2A zurücksetzen, weil ich das Passwort für die private Space -Funktion vergessen habe. Nach dem Zurücksetzen ging ich wie gewohnt das erste Setup durch, alles schien in Ordnung zu sein, und ich stellte sicher, dass das Telefon aktualisiert wurde. Als ich jedoch nach Updates in Einstellungen> System> System -Update checkte, zeigte sich, dass mein Google Play -System -Update am 1. Juli 2024 festsitzt. Auch wenn ich vor dem Zurücksetzen im letzten Mai 2025 -Update war. Ich habe Screenshots angezeigt, die angezeigt werden: Mein Handy läuft Android 15 Letzter Sicherheitspatch: 1. Juni 2025 (das ist aktuell) Google Play System Update: 1. Juli 2024 Manuelle Überprüfung sagt nur "Ihr Gerät ist auf dem neuesten Dinge, die ich bereits ausprobiert habe: Mehrere manuelle Update -Überprüfungen Das Telefon neu starten Sicherstellen, dass mein Google -Konto ordnungsgemäß unterschrieben ist Gute Internetverbindung (Wi-Fi und mobile Daten beide getestet) Dieses Problem begann erst nach dem Zurücksetzen - vorher war alles perfekt auf dem neuesten Stand. Wenn jemand anderes dies konfrontiert hat oder eine Lösung kennt, würde ich die Hilfe wirklich zu schätzen wissen. Ist dies ein bekanntes Problem mit Android 15 oder __term_1__ OS auf der 2a? Hi everyone,

A few days ago, I had to factory reset my Nothing Phone 2a because I forgot the password for the Private Space feature. After the reset, I went through the initial setup as usual, everything seemed fine, and I made sure the phone was updated.

However, when I checked for updates in Settings > System > System update, it showed that my Google Play system update is stuck at 1 July 2024 — even though before the reset, I was on the latest May 2025 update.

I’ve attached screenshots showing:

My phone running Android 15

Latest security patch: 1 June 2025 (which is current)

Google Play system update: 1 July 2024

Manual check just says “Your device is up to date” even though it clearly isn’t for Play system updates

Things I’ve already tried:

Multiple manual update checks

Restarting the phone

Ensuring my Google account is properly signed in

Good internet connection (Wi-Fi and mobile data both tested)

This issue only started after the reset — before that, everything was perfectly up to date.

If anyone else has faced this, or knows a fix, I’d really appreciate the help. Is this a known issue with Android 15 or Nothing OS on the 2a? Or do I just need to wait for the Play update to be pushed

again?

I am from Pakistan. I think they might fix it in next update. My phone is currently on OS 3.0. Is there a way out to inform the nothing team about the issue?

DanishWaseemButt no bro I am still facing this issue. even after updating my device when i Restart my device it again shows to download the same update again and it’s an infinite loop @Rob ⚡️

The issue is not related to Nothing, but Google instead. My gf has the exact same issue with her Pixel 8 Pro, stuck at 1 July 2024. Also many other users experience the same, I’ll link just two amongst quite a lot of examples:

Anonymous931 i don’t know about that. My issue got fixed with the OS 3.2 update.

DanishWaseemButt Not saying it didn’t, I’m just saying that it’s on Google’s side and whatever is needed to trigger their side to push you an update. You can try to force it manually (download an apk with a newer date) or just wait and it will, eventually, sort itself out one way or another (like in your case, for example).
