It is more useful than the lights, lets be honest, i like the whole scrolling text thing, some aspects make it a lot more logical than the glyph lights, but as a design feature the lights outperform it by a mile, just flashy notifications and ringtones make it really fun, unlike Apple’s flash notifications which make you look like you’re taking pictures of people.
It definitely has its space in the nothing ecosystem, but since the watch has barely any community integration, this shows it’s time to change it, the most influential thing we can do about the watch right now are watch faces which may or may not find themselves into the gallery.
If the hardware stops us from integrating the matrix, it’s time for a better version. If that’s not the case it’s Nothing themselves.
(I understand the matrix has just became an official feature and we haven’t even gotten our hands on it. )
