100hzpanic I’m telling you that switching the DSP off will not result in a flat output, unaltered yes, Good frequency response, not so much. Because like I said low quality drivers that need DSP to sound decent. If you’re suggesting that you’re fine with crap frequency response as a result of the crap drivers, Then yes I’ll admit I didn’t follow you the first time nor do I get the logic in using an amp for crappy drivers that don’t scale well. If your DAC amp has an EQ to fix the issues with the natural frequency without any algorithmic correction apllied then that’s a different argument but I doubt you’d be willing to go that route given your pretty apparent disdain of DSP.

Regarding your second point no they don’t have the capital to target such a niche, It’s not changing anytime soon and they might be more risk averse in the near future if my guess regarding phone 3 heavily underperforming is true.

But like I said in the first or second post I made most ANC headphones including the Sony do have a DSP bypass mode and all you need to do is use them wired with the headphones switched off. But like like I said previously they sound atrocious without DSP correction. I don’t have headphones 1 yet so I can’t check for myself if that’s the case on them.

KamiKaze It goes without saying that Nothing wouldn’t release a ‘studio mode’ if the drivers were truly as poor as you claim – that would be a huge misstep for a brand so focused on image, design, and user experience. The fact that the mode exists at all suggests they’re confident enough in the raw sound to offer it without DSP.

And honestly, your assumptions about what Nothing can or can’t afford are just that – assumptions. Only Nothing knows their actual strategy and budget. If anything, their track record shows they enjoy pushing boundaries within their price range.

But that’s not even the point of my original idea the real value is in the solution: giving users a choice. It doesn’t have to replace high-end studio gear, and it’s not meant to. The two don’t exclude each other. But yeah of course the price goes up if we want a good product but not necessarily that we cries blood like apple airmax. It’s just speculations
