In dem Spec -Blatt heißt es also 65W schnelles Laden und unterstützt PD3.0. Wenn sie jedoch mit PD3.1 an die Power Bank angeschlossen sind und eine maximale Ausgabe von 140 W unterstützt, zieht das Telefon 3 nur einen Maximum von 17 W. Eigentlich langsamer als das Samsung -Telefon, das ersetzt, das ungefähr 20W zieht. Mit dem gleichen Kabel (das mit dem Telefon geliefert) kann mein Dampfdeck nach 45 W ziehen. Ich bin tatsächlich ein wenig enttäuscht, als ich auf schnellere Geschwindigkeiten gehofft hatte.

We understand your concerns regarding the charging speed of the Nothing Phone (3). Based on your report and the logs, it appears that your phone is currently charging at a maximum of 34-37W, which is below the the advertised 65W.

After reviewing internal testing and community reports, we would like to clarify the following:

Device-side charging negotiation: The Nothing Phone (3) adjusts charging voltage and current based on several factors including battery temperature, ambient conditions, and charger compatibility. This is designed to protect battery health and ensure long-term device reliability.

Charger compatibility: While your UGreen 65W GaN charger is QC3.0/PPS capable, some multi-port chargers may not fully negotiate the PPS voltage curve to reach the maximum 65W on Nothing Phone (3).

System firmware optimization: NOS 4.0 includes safety mechanisms that may limit charging speeds under real-world conditions. Future software updates may further optimize PPS negotiation and improve maximum achievable charging speeds with compatible chargers.

Temporary suggestions to try:

Use the original Nothing Phone (3) charger and cable rated for 65W PPS for testing, if available.

Ensure ambient temperature is within 20–30°C range; extreme cold or heat can throttle charging.

Test with a single-port PPS charger rather than a multi-port GaN hub.

This solution is absurd.

I am using the CMF charger 65W (Offical charger as per Nothing) with the cable that came in the box.

Currently it is Winters in India and the temp ranges from 10-18°C these days.

With these conditions, I am getting 21W as max wattage while charging while the same charger is charging other devices at around 60W.

Clearly a Nothing issue.

Can someone with the original charger send results for Phone 3(a) here too. I don’t think it’s at max speed even though it is pretty fast

Think this answer from nothing is pretty poor. And I really wonder why that sell chargers under CMF brand when none of the CMF phones charge near 65w, never mind 100w. Why not release a charger under the Nothing Brand. Then explain why the phone charges at 36w.

I have a 100W charger, the device has never charged over 35W. In the UK the temperature is rarely above 25 degrees Celsius throughout the year

georgios1 based on what my AccuBattery app is telling me, my battery is rarely below 20°C, even when idling. The phone will sit generally at 3-5°C above ambient, so indoor ambient should be enough to keep the battery/phone within that magic “20 to 30°C” range.

After extensive testing with the official Nothing 65W charger and in-box cable, I can confirm that Nothing Phone (3) is charging correctly and as designed. The confusion mainly comes from how charging data is reported compared to phones like Moto Edge 50.

🔋 Real charging performance (0–100%)

Observed real-world charging times:

0% → 50% : ~20–25 minutes
0% → 80% : ~30–35 minutes
0% → 100% : ~50–55 minutes

The last 20% (80–100%) intentionally takes longer (~20–25 minutes) due to battery protection and cell balancing.
This behavior is normal and intentional.

⚡ Wattage shown in apps (AccuBattery, Ampere, etc.)

Apps do not show 65W on Nothing Phone (3).
This is because Nothing uses USB-PD PPS with charge-pump architecture.
Android apps can only read battery-side power, not charger input power.
As a result, apps usually show 5–30W, even when 65W PPS fast charging is active.

➡️ This is a software / API limitation, not a hardware or charger issue.

Reason for the difference:

Moto Edge 50 uses a more direct high-current charging design, so charger power is visible to apps.

- Moto shows high watt numbers in apps
- Nothing does not, even though fast charging is active internally
