Nothing Phone (3) 65W charging clarification
(Including comparison with Moto Edge 50 series)
After extensive testing with the official Nothing 65W charger and in-box cable, I can confirm that Nothing Phone (3) is charging correctly and as designed. The confusion mainly comes from how charging data is reported compared to phones like Moto Edge 50.

🔋 Real charging performance (0–100%)
Observed real-world charging times:
0% → 50% : ~20–25 minutes
0% → 80% : ~30–35 minutes
0% → 100% : ~50–55 minutes
The last 20% (80–100%) intentionally takes longer (~20–25 minutes) due to battery protection and cell balancing.
This behavior is normal and intentional.

⚡ Wattage shown in apps (AccuBattery, Ampere, etc.)
Apps do not show 65W on Nothing Phone (3).
This is because Nothing uses USB-PD PPS with charge-pump architecture.
Android apps can only read battery-side power, not charger input power.
As a result, apps usually show 5–30W, even when 65W PPS fast charging is active.
➡️ This is a software / API limitation, not a hardware or charger issue.

🔍 Comparison with Moto Edge 50 (important context)
I compared this behavior with Moto Edge 50, where apps like AccuBattery show 60–66W.
Reason for the difference:
Moto Edge 50 uses a more direct high-current charging design, so charger power is visible to apps.
Nothing Phone (3) uses a more conservative PPS + conversion design, prioritizing battery safety and longevity.
Because of this design choice:
Moto shows high watt numbers in apps
Nothing does not, even though fast charging is active internally
👉 This is a design philosophy difference, not a performance fault.

📱 UI behavior
Nothing OS often shows “Rapid charging” instead of “Fast charging”.
This is normal Nothing OS behavior.
Charging speed should always be judged by actual charging time, not UI text or watt numbers.

✅ Final verdict
✔ 65W fast charging is working correctly
✔ Phone hardware is normal
✔ Original charger & cable are functioning properly
✔ Charging curve prioritizes battery health
✔ No service visit required

🔑 Takeaway for other users
On Nothing Phone (3), fast charging must be verified by charging time, not by wattage shown in apps.
0–100% in ~50–55 minutes is correct 65W PPS behavior.
Phones like Moto Edge 50 may show higher watt numbers, but that does not mean Nothing is charging slowly or incorrectly.
