Nothing (3) fails basic integrity check after unlocking bootloader

I unlocked the bootloader on my new Nothing (3) and it now fails all Play Integrity checks, including Basic Integrity. It is not rooted. This should not happen with just a bootloader unlock. What gives?

You have only unlocked the bootloader or also flashed some custom images? Because if you unlock only the bootloader you can pass only the basic integrity, if you do some other modification you will fail all integrity levels. If you root your phone you can pass basic integrity with the obsolete play integrity fix magisk module, or all integrity levels of you use tricky store and a valid keybox.xml (but only until the key is un-revocated). Almost, this is what I remember, I suggest you to check on XDA or related forums

No, I only unlocked the bootloader, no modifications outside of that. Try it yourself.

RapidZapper Wow phenomenal, absolute genius here. Reason for the thread is that this shouldn’t happen; phones should pass basic integrity with an unlocked bootloader.

Same thing on 3a. Disappointing, but there are many modules once you root that will fix this.

freymotif That's just part of the many security Google is adding to enforce safety security signals for developers.

If you don't plan to flash anything it'd be better to lock the bootloader.

RapidZapper You're so, so wrong, and I keep correcting you, and you just keep speaking and continuing to be spectacularly wrong.

Basic integrity should pass on phones with an unlocked bootloader, as per the Android Developer docs themselves. Nothing needs to sort this out, this shouldn't be happening.

Having an unlocked bootloader from the get-go means I don't have to wipe my phone if I decide I want to root in the future. There are plenty of apps (e.g. my bank) that require only a basic integrity pass and are happy to function on a bootloader-unlocked device.

freymotif recently google is disabling side loading in Android.

We know Android is open source but google is building it's framework over the Android based.

So if you disabled Google services maximum things in your phone will be stopped working.

So like wise maybe it's an Android Google problem rather than Nothing's.

I don't know much details but Android is nothing without google, and if google decide to stop user from rooting or side loading then we can't do anything about it.
