There are still issues when setting the generative tone…

Now the generative mode works, but it doesn’t switch between different styles. No matter how many times I change it, I only get one type of generative tone!

To make it change, I have to do this: set a custom tone for the contact, then remove it, and then select between “chermical” or “diode”. Only then does it actually switch. It’s surreal, lol.

RuudHesp it’s very botched still. Can’t get the custom glyph rules to work anymore… Hope they fix it soon, it’s a really usefull feature… pretty much the USP of the whole phone

andrewchris22 Well maybe lots of us with the Phone 3 have no issues at all and don’t need to post :-) my phone 3 so far has been great, no issues at all.

I don’t have this update (it’s out in Europe). The UK gets it last (we just got the 11 JUL update this morning).

Nice update, the issue with the generative tone setting almost drove me crazy, I didn’t know if I was doing anything wrong but I couldn’t get it to work. Now with the new update, it finally recognizes the setting and, at least at first glance, actually seems to be working now.

I had some other issues with notifications not beepingand the glyph matrix not lighting up, will see if this has been fixed too.

Do a test. Check if they actually change when you select each of the generative tone styles. It’s not working for me (video in the message above).

Should the generative ringtones work for apps like WhatsApp as that is how I mainly call my friends and family

RuudHesp I only use them for notifications, not calls. I at least got two different tones for my calendar app and mail client, while Discord had the same tone as the mail client.

tmb10101 I can’t work out how to set the generative tones for Whatsapp, but you can select Nothing Signals from the Settings -> Notifications section of WhatsApp

Switching styles does not work for me too. Additionally, calls from messaging apps like telegram/whatsapp appear to be defaulting to classic ringtones with empty glyph animation.

Would also love to see a comprehensive tour to generative ringtones/notifications

So it’s confirmed I’m not the only one. They haven’t fully fixed it… now we wait for the next update :S

For me generative tons work Perfect. Changing style and generate new audio for different contacts and apps. But please, try to fix custom glyph icon, still doesn’t work correct.

I feel bad for NOTHING in this case. This is a new hardware module that no other phone employs. It’s going to be tricky for a small company to add all of this on top of Android with a tight schedule and limited development resources (the is part of the £899 cots). Most of NOTHING OS is simply a skin and it should be “easier.” This is novel hardware and I simply ask that people remember that. The same is true with Essential Space/Search but those look to be employing off-the-shelf libraries/modules.

The laggy video on WhatsApp issue was solved. But instead now the quality of the video on a video call has significantly been reduced. Almost feels like an oil paining. Has anyone else faced this?

My only issue currently is the always on glyph matrix not working correctly. This was already mentioned in Mr.Mobiles review of the Phone (3). Is that being worked on?
