The phone gets so hot after just a few minutes of video call.

TeranceW the SoC does get hot in the device and I find that video calling apps are optimised for maximal performance and will run the SoC at 100%. I’ve found this with WhatsApp, Zoom, Meet and Teams.

The streaming services are much more optimised but the video call apps crank the SoC up to 100% to avoid any issues.

I don’t have the latest update yet as it hasn’t rolled out yet to the UK (to my knowledge).

Can confirm

Needs to be some more optimization to prevent overheating. Can’t imagine it having to run at 100% when way lesser socs can run those video call apps without issues.

erikvanseggelen I assumed that now that all the reviews are out, NOTHING would thermally throttle the SoC performance but like I said before I don’t have the latest update. perhaps this has happened now. I wouldn’t call is “hot” it was more warm like a fast battery charge.

Using Google Meet here, no issues, no heat, get’s a little warm that is about it.
