In terms of composition, the easiest way to level up a photo is to learn how to use the grid to place subjects in specific spots. Like with the rule of thirds or by having something in the corners. This way, not all pictures will look the same with the subject always in the middle.
Also, I would recommend playing a bit with the aspect ratio of the picture. Even if you prefer the 16:9 of social media, sometimes cropping to a 1:1 or a 4:3 can give a different narrative to the image.
In terms of editing, the biggest lesson I learned with my Phone 3a Pro is to USE PRO MODE AND SHOOT RAW. The final file can be easily imported into free apps like Snapseed and you can edit way more the picture if you shoot it in raw.
For shooting at the moon, zoom as much as possible in “standard mode” as it has a great processing which makes the final image look better than the one shot in pro mode. This works when the moon is clearly visible, however, if may not work if the moon is reddish or partially covered.
For shooting at people, use the zoom lense and take a few steps back to have the cool background blur without the small errors that the portrait mode may have.
