Hello Nothing Team & Community,
I’ve been using the pre-installed screen recording app on Nothing OS, and while it works smoothly, I feel it’s missing one very important feature: manual control over recording resolution and bitrate.
Currently, the app decides the recording quality automatically. This can sometimes lead to large file sizes or unnecessary battery usage when a lower resolution would be enough, or reduced clarity when higher quality is needed.
👉 My suggestion:
Add options to manually select resolution (e.g., 480p, 720p, 1080p, 2K).
Add bitrate customization (e.g., Low, Medium, High, or custom kbps).
Option to record in constant or variable bitrate.
This would give users better flexibility depending on their needs — whether it’s recording tutorials, gameplay, or just casual screen capture. Other OEMs provide this functionality, and having it in Nothing OS would be a big quality-of-life improvement.
Would love to know what other users think, and I hope the Nothing team can consider this in a future update.
