Hi all, New to this blog!

Just wanted to give a bit of an update on my experience with the Nothing phone 3 so far (hoping nothing are listening) .
First the Phone design 📱
Beautiful, love everything about it, stands out, feels premium, really happy they are doing things differently in this area, as all other phones now a day’s are starting to look the same!
Next the UI / Software 🧑🏽💻
So, I love nothing OS, it’s nice to look at, fast and smooth most of the time and I can customise it how I want it to be.
My upsets 🥲
A lot of apps are locked to running at 60fps! This is a very jarring experience that makes a solid operating system, feel slow and outdated sometimes. I will be scrolling through chats on WhatsApp, as soon as I click a HD photo, phone stutters every single time and drops down to 60fps! (I’ve used on screen FPS counter to confirm this) .
My other annoying thing is, I force the phone to run 120fps and force peak refresh in Dev options, still runs at 60fps in a lot of apps. PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE NOTHING! FEATURES ARE GOOD BUT AN OVERALL SMOOTH OS, THATS WHAT MAKES A PHONE GREAT!
THE 8S GEN 4 🫰🏽🐉
So the 8s Gen 4, what a chip it is, I’ve come from the Honor Magic 7 pro, using the 8 elite, which was capped to running at 60% of it’s full speed, due to battery optimisation systems on the OS 🫣 but when doing heavy tasks, it ramped to full speed. The 8 elite is a great chip, really good for gaming as well, but if I am honest and compare it to the 8s Gen 4 in the phone 3, I would say it’s not any better at all, the phone 3 has gone through all of the same that the Honor did in my use and it has not let me down one time when doing any of these general tasks. Using the camera, most social media apps, browsing, using Google messages, playing some games ( will talk more in a moment on this) , casting to my TV, it’s done all of this with ease, but like with any phone, sometimes there is issues.
The Issues with the 8s Gen 4
Coming onto the issues, mostly all good, I’ve touched on the software limitations that nothing and app Devs have in place (nothing to do with the chip) , but the issues is, the 8s gen 4 is new and because of this, some games have not been optimised to take advantage of the full power! Example, I’ve been playing a lot of Destiny Rising (absolutely amazing game! ) On the Nothing phone, I can run the game at around 60fps on standard settings, it will not let me choose a custom option, the game runs fine but looks terrible. On the other hand I have an Honor Magic pad 2 with a Snapdragon 8S Gen 3, a chip, which is about 50-60% slower than the Gen 4 and it can run the game at 60+ FPS with the graphics cracked up to the almost max! Game looks beautiful and plays really nice as well. I know the Chip can do much better, just down to the Devs to show it some love.
I will touch on the cameras and the rest in an upcoming blog post. Please show your love and support #nothinggangNothing Phone Series
