Personally, I’d prefer that, for the sake of look & feel, a harmonious mix of gray/white/red is used, with the colors balanced in terms of their quantity on each screen, so that red accents stand out without causing confusion. As for the “music visualization” you mentioned, if you mean the media player, it’s actually implemented in AOSP, and its color is determined by the media thumbnail.
