Recently a very weird issue started happening with my Nothing Ear (a), whenever I’m in a call the audio sounds very low quality/bitcrushed, it affects both call audio, media audio and my microphone. The issue only appears on my Nothing Phone (2), when I connect the earbuds to a different device and I get into a call everything is perfectly fine. Also when I connect different earbuds to the Phone (2) everything is fine too. It only happens with the specific combination of Ear (a) and Phone (2). When I’m not in a call the audio is fine too.
Today the same issue started happening to my boyfriend with his Ear (open) and Nothing Phone (3a). The issue happens out of nowhere since it was okay literally a few minutes prior.
I messaged Nothing Support but they weren’t very helpful. I’m in a very quiet environment so it’s not a noise cancelling issue and it appears on all kinds of apps (Discord, WhatsApp, Phone Calls etc.)
Things I have tried:
- Resetting Bluetooth settings
- Changing audio codec
- Resetting the earbuds
- Turning the device on in Safe Mode
- Changing settings in Nothing X
- Updating everything I could
- Resetting my phone (helped temporarily but the issue is back now and I won’t lie factory reset every time it appears is quite annoying)
