Doesn't the new nothing os 4 Feel boring?

Für ein großes Update sieht und fühlt es sich fast genauso aus wie zuvor. Die UL hat sich nicht weiterentwickelt. Es gibt immer noch kein haptisches Feedback für die Helligkeit oder die Lautstärkereisen, das Batterie-Symbol ist unverändert (selbst Google hat ihr jahrelanges Batteriestatus-Symbol aktualisiert), während selbst Pixel-Betriebssystem, das als minimal bekannt ist, diese Berührungen umfasst. Darüber hinaus gibt es überhaupt keine Sperrbildschirmanpassung, wodurch sich das Betriebssystem im Vergleich zu anderen Marken veraltet fühlt. Ich weiß, dass dies immer noch in der Beta ist, aber es scheint, dass die meisten Funktionen bereits abgeschlossen sind - und im Moment fühlt sich Nothing OS 4 überwältigend und ohne Politur an.

pnknot I’d argue that the Playground is more important than anything I’ve seen listed by the “liquid glass, battery icon, hotspot details, true dark, consistent font, my battery drains please fix” oh and allow clock colour changes crowd.

Maybe you guys should stick with POCO as they have tons of spec per £/INR/€ for the spec-racers too.

pnknot dude, if that makes you change brands, and it’s toxic, then I’m sorry.

Think about it this way, cmf is getting spun off, can you imagine an Indian-based App Store with proper development and focus on that 1B+ population (similar to China with their population).

I’d be super excited if India was my home market as this is going full-speed toward an AI-powered cmf App Store.

Instead, let’s worry about a couple pixels or fonts here and there, seems like a poor decision to me with limited dev time that NTL currently has.

CMF1_hacker Well indian market is very much different from the rest of the world and there are too many brands who competed with each other, some of them have spent decades here building their reputation and some ruined it very quickly. Most people here don’t earn much, and those who do prefer to buy iPhone or ultras. So the remaining market is of those tech enthusiast who want value for money products and more from their smartphones, specially when it comes to brand wars.

CMF is completely fine because it’s a cheap phone and one can’t expect more at that pricing but problems arises when you sell a phone (nothing 3a, 3a pro) with a price tag of 25k+ competing products like Nord 5 or S24FE or even realme phones (all of them are great and have good ui/unique features).

For example, Biggest mistake of nothing was, nothing 3 that was launched with 80k INR pricetag but now is selling at 50% discount in current sale. Now those who sold their nothing phone1/2 in exchange few days or weeks back to buy this phone incurred heavy losses.

Guys what is there to fight about in this it’s totally okay if you want some more features as a customer of certain company it’s your right to ask for something which you wish to have in the OS so rather than saying it here say it somewhere where it will actually reach the devs of company directly like feedback option in phone settings or the feedback community post they specifically made for it

pnknot cmf will spin out and rule the Indian landscape, or force big names to invest more, including those with real app stores already. It’s a win for the Indian enduser.

Would you rather the NP3 stay at 85k INR forever? It’s someone old already … I had one in early JUL, so it’s three months old and most brands would discount by then?

pnknot As an Indian even after buying my 3A I kept looking at my friends’ phones with >30% cheaper price having almost the same specs and thinking if I made the right decision. The superior software is what gives nothing the edge, else tecno, poco, etc. are still incredible

pollenjh Nobody said it has to be a major update. Nobody is asking for it. Just a few visual overhaul, some quality improvements, that’s all we need. Even Apple a notorious company who was against coustomization is doing something good. Nothing is known for their software. Then why can’t we get what we have signed up for?

GalibHossain_EuIYRZpoTs Depends on what you signed up for honestly. I bought the Ear (1) because it was cheap and looked cool. I bought the Phone (2) because I needed a new phone, wanted to stand out and support a “small” company and because it was available to buy through my carrier.

If you’re interested in their software and where it’s going, I’d recommend watching this video. Maybe not the whole thing, but they’ve expressed that they’ll probably do a major visual overhaul once they’re happy with the functionality of NOS first, which I think is smart. I’m sure iOS 26 and 18 hate was harsh, but it did look like they sacrificed polish for the sake of just changing things up. I don’t want Nothing to end up like that.

They’re constantly hiring new software developer, so I’m sure we’ll see more changes and added features in updates soon enough. I personally just love how light NOS is, and how they don’t outright copy other brands. That’s part of the reason why I wouldn’t daily drive a Samsung or most BBK phone OS’, for example. That’s just me tho

Bruhh , Im here with the NP2 for the past 2 years with the trash camera optimization,which they never cared about even after so many feedbacks from the users. These are the complaints , and until there are complaints , you cant tell people to stop complaining.

I’m not paying for Apple phones, but I do for their iMac and MBA/MBP lines, and I know whatever I buy will be a compromise and I run different software. I ran some GCams on my CMF1 until NOTHING released gallery last DEC via sideload and improved their camera game around April. I go in like 90% of the CMF1 and I know it has no OIS, so why I would not run GCam in the winter months? Common sense, or?

Do you expect NTL to pump out great camera apps on a really really cheap phone by Western standards, where they make their profit?

Hell, even the NP3 price slashing is cutting profit on their flagship so Dev time is going to be more limited on all phones.

They marketed the phone 1 and phone 2 with their glyph lights , which stuck with the same features from the day it is released , no improvements and now they almost discontinued it , now they have come up with glyph matrix which might be ditched sometime sooner or later .. are these things right ? This is the story of Nothing so far

Any company has finite resource, based on profit, that they can deploy.

In essence, the NP1/NP2 users have subsidised the Playground. I’m OK with that.

Now, NTL has offered £300 off a NP3 with a simple IMEI and no trade-in (in the UK). I could walk down the road to a national used electronics shop (CeX) and get £170 for a NP2. So, the NP3 goes from £799 down to £799-£300-£170 = £329 which is the NP3a price new.

I’m not sure what else anyone in the UK could want? Some users here did exactly that.
