Doesn't the new nothing os 4 Feel boring?

Für ein großes Update sieht und fühlt es sich fast genauso aus wie zuvor. Die UL hat sich nicht weiterentwickelt. Es gibt immer noch kein haptisches Feedback für die Helligkeit oder die Lautstärkereisen, das Batterie-Symbol ist unverändert (selbst Google hat ihr jahrelanges Batteriestatus-Symbol aktualisiert), während selbst Pixel-Betriebssystem, das als minimal bekannt ist, diese Berührungen umfasst. Darüber hinaus gibt es überhaupt keine Sperrbildschirmanpassung, wodurch sich das Betriebssystem im Vergleich zu anderen Marken veraltet fühlt. Ich weiß, dass dies immer noch in der Beta ist, aber es scheint, dass die meisten Funktionen bereits abgeschlossen sind - und im Moment fühlt sich Nothing OS 4 überwältigend und ohne Politur an.

For a major update, it looks and feels almost the same as before. The Ul hasn’t evolved. There’s still no haptic feedback for the brightness or volume sliders, the battery icon is unchanged (even Google updated their years-old battery status icon) while even Pixel OS, known for being minimal, includes these touches. On top of that, there’s no lock screen customization at all, which makes the OS feel outdated compared to other brands.

I know this is still in beta, but it seems most of the features are already finalized - and right now, Nothing OS 4 feels underwhelming and lacking polish.

GalibHossain_EuIYRZpoTs buddy it’s just the 1st beta they will roll updates slowly it’s not the full update… for eg- u can see the original community post of the Nos 4 open beta and see the image the status bar is updated but ig they will roll it in a later update let them take their time and just hope for the best 🙂

Winter No, I didn’t lose anything while installing beta but did lose while rolling back to nos 3.2 (Android 15)

That’s fair. It definitely doesn’t feel like anything right now, and it’s a slow, really slow burn. Hopefully, it gets better from here on out.

Yeah, each update has to be fun, tell nice new jokes, be your own personal stand-up comedian etc. It’s difficult to place a call if the UI is simply not fun enough.

Most people use apps with minimal interaction with the OS. Then there are some Nothing users who just swipe left, right, up and down through the UI as their daily usage of their phones, and they don’t really care much about other apps. It is what it is…

Anonymous931 I actually do want my phone to tell me jokes - I use it 6+ hours a day, so why shouldn’t it entertain me? What’s the problem with wanting more features and fun in the OS? Nothing OS is still very new, and if they don’t add meaningful features now, then when will they?

Google, Apple, Samsung, OnePlus - they all constantly overhaul their OS to keep things fresh and useful. Are they all dumb for doing that? No. The only people acting dumb here are the ones blindly defending Nothing no matter what. Stop carrying the flag for a company and start asking for improvements. Get a life, man.

Yep, exactly this ☝️ It’s the very first open beta, not a full and final release. Things will be added, removed and adjusted as necessary, but some people expect it to be fully finished stable release 🥴

NocturnalDude84 Definitely man, agreed. Unfortunately, that’s just how it is with promising systems, some people just want more of their expectations to be met without actually knowing what’s going on underneath the hood.

NocturnalDude84, I sorta agree. I don’t really care about the new features, I think the OS is fine now. Also, I’m just happy that the update will let me use Essential apps. I don’t really care for anything else that much.

Anonymous931 but i brought nothing only because of their OS , they said they are different from others on terms of OS now its all the same , 4.0 looks outdated, other UIs also have beta program they added tons of features and compared to that it’s nothing!!

aaritgupta891 I do get where they’re coming from though. For an update that jumps to Android 16 and skips version 3.6 to 3.9, you’d think we’d have more by now (the new changes are cool though don’t get me wrong). I’m hoping that they’re just laying the foundations for more updates.

These are the complaints , and until there are complaints , you cant tell people to stop complaining.

pollenjh Nobody said it has to be a major update. Nobody is asking for it. Just a few visual overhaul, some quality improvements, that’s all we need. Even Apple a notorious company who was against coustomization is doing something good. Nothing is known for their software. Then why can’t we get what we have signed up for?

aaritgupta891 That’s the goal man. I think they’re doing amazing, however I also think that there’s so much room for improvement. That is, communication. I think a lot of this discussion wouldn’t happen if they properly communicated what is and isn’t coming, and not just a showcase video.
