I guess the other way to think about it is the LOOOOOOONG TERM … this will be the platform that will allow NOTHING OS to fork away from Android mainline in a way that is similar to China without Google Play Store. Think about the Playground replacing the GPS as an example (or in addition to?) China has three large Apps stores, why not NOTHING as well.
I didn’t except them to host everything like it seems they are based on the QR codes above.
As an aside, I would recommend that the spend some of the $200MM Series C on server(s)/bandwidth after yesterday if they want to roll this out properly.
People need to quit saying that NOS 4.0 beta is simply NOS 3.6 or incremental. The actual phone software is the boring bit, the fascinating bit that people have caught on to is the Playground being an App Store rival, and that seems to be the direction of travel in the code.
