CMF1_hacker I agree with that. I happily paid the €799 for my 512 gig Nothing Phone (3), I most likely would have even paid the MSRP of €899 for the phone - but took advantage of the “free” memory upgrade deal.
For me the price was absolutely worth it. Especially considering back in July 2023 I purchased a Nothing Phone (2), also with 512 gigs, right on release and guess how much I paid? It was exactly €799, the very same price I paid for the successor two years later. A successor which improved on pretty much all aspects, including build quality (which I already thought was good on the NP2), so I have little reason to complain.
But as you said, I think here in Europe (or western markets in general), people are more willing to also make choices based on design or rather are willing to pay a small premium for a design they like over similar specced, yet cheaper stuff. That doesn’t only apply to smartphones by far. For example I drive an electric Mini Cooper, I could have gotten a similar sized car with more range, more practicality and at a cheaper price by purchasing a Renault Zoe - but that wouldn’t have been a Mini. I didn’t mind making sacrifices / paying more in favor of a design I prefer.
Maybe it is better for Nothing to withdraw from Indian market or at least stop offering certain products there.
