Ich habe jedoch festgestellt, dass die Beta -Updates für Telefon (1) derzeit nicht verfügbar sind. However, I have noticed that the beta updates for Phone (1) are currently unavailable. As an early adopter and loyal user, I believe continued beta access would help both the company and the community by:

Errr, beta access for what exactly? The Phone (1) won’t receive Nothing OS 4.0 anyways, so there is no point in “re-enabling” this phone for the beta testing.

At the time of our review, the security patches were from May 2022 and therefore no longer very up to date. Nothing promises three major Android updates and four years of security patches, which is now quite average compared with other manufacturers.

You knew very clearly how many major updates will be released, not just from Nothing’s site but from all existing reviews.

Yep, exactly. It’s not like it was hidden anywhere. Everyone could find the info in less than 10 seconds if they wanted to, all before buying their phone.

It’s hard to keep up with the Google’s requirements upon new major releases, can’t remember if it was A14 or A15 or earlier, one of the Android releases requiring some kernel BPF stuff, rendered a lot of devices outdated, and only revived by the community which implemented kernel backports.

Saying this to explain why there’s only 3 years commitment from vendors like Nothing. Phones are not like desktops where you can have hundred and hundred of releases compatible with any device that exists , instead there is a lot of work involved into bringing each major release to a specific device, and as the year gap expands, it becomes very hard for vendors to keep up, especially when they have multiple device models released

As the device was released in July 2022, the best you can hope for is security updates until July 2026.

The NP(1) will not get any more Android version updates.
