I’m interested in looking into a way to be able to enable a 1 week measurement of interactions made on your device, mainly to actually understand how you are using your device and what is really taking up your time. Instead of tracking time on apps, it’d record what apps you’re directly engaging with the most via phone taps / swipes. So if I’m on Instagram and scrolling a lot, it can say you tapped X times and swiped X times. Or maybe the screen traveled x distance. I often have podcasts on at work, or I’m using Waze for navigation, but this will still add to my "time using device, but it’s not active use. What I’m saying is instead of “you used this app for this much time” you could have “you interacted with this app this much”. I fully recognise it’d be a potential battery drain, but ideally this would be an “activate measurement for x days” thing. Hopefully it’s help people see how much of their time and more so attention is drained from certain apps and help create better habits to minimise them. If anyone has any critiques I’d love to hear.
