This is the first test I would have done if I had a 3a/3a pro.
The first few: avast and Shopify could be cookies/etc… so those are boring.
But the final one is the crux of the argument.
Whether data still sent even if lock screen glimpse is disabled.
NTL hasn’t addressed this at all and they simply state to disable it if you don’t like it. They never make mention of whether or not that stops data being transferred. I would speculate that the data gets transferred regardless if the vendor if paying upfront per phone install. I wish someone would post the T&C’s that users have to agree to.
I would change the focus of your thread to the only the Lock Screen Glimpse and post screenshots as well and track the frequency and intensity of data transfer switched on and off and that’s what users want to know.
Thank you for the taking the time to run these tests as I’ve been quite interested and have been curious with all of the bellyaching going on around here. If you can get a hold of the T&C’s that would be great.
If you get a hold of the lock screen glimpse APK via APK Extractor can you send the file to me so I could decompile it with JADX and have a look at the code.
