JakubL I’m open to discussions, man. I actually used to like Nothing and defended their minimalist approach before the 4.0 beta for the 3a series rolled out. What I shared were just suggestions — actual ideas for how they could make money without compromising the clean experience.
For example, imagine if Nothing offered an alternative to Google Photos (which most of us end up using because the stock gallery lacks features). If they took a more unique route — like partnering with OpenAI — and gave users the choice: stick with Google Photos for editing or use an AI-powered Nothing Gallery. That would be innovation.
And come on, most brands in the Asian market already have their own dialers. So asking for one from Nothing isn’t unrealistic.
I never said I’m the “voice of the community.” Everyone’s opinion and criticism should be welcome here. The reason I made this thread is because so many users created posts criticizing Nothing’s recent decisions — and instead of listening, trolls jumped in calling them “whiners” or “haters” just because they didn’t offer a “valid alternative.”
Well, here I am — offering some. And still, people twist it into “switch brands if you don’t like it.” Like seriously? I paid ₹32K for this phone just a few months ago. Why would I sell it for ₹20K or exchange it for ₹12K and take the loss?
If the brand makes a mistake, users have every right to speak up — that’s how things improve. I’m not claiming to represent everyone; I’m just trying to keep things civil and constructive here. If more people share their valid points and suggestions under this thread, maybe we can have one place that’s troll-free and actually useful.
Banjer decent arguments and questions they immediately get labeled as fanboy, shill, Carl etc… how about that? And that criticism sometimes is just a "my next phone won't be an Nothing, Leave the brand etc"
Decent arguments? Come on — have you actually seen the posts that got flagged or locked recently? Most of those “arguments” were nowhere close to decent.
Instead of addressing valid criticism, those trolls flood every thread with stuff like “another whiner with no solution” or “just sell your phone if you don’t like it.” Why should anyone sell their phone at a loss just because a brand went back on its promise?
And for the record, I’ve been around here long enough — check my old posts from before the open beta 4.0 rollout. I used to defend Nothing’s approach myself. At least I’ve got the spine to speak up now instead of pretending everything’s fine.
Sure, people have every right to say they’ll switch brands if they’re unhappy — even I might if Nothing doesn’t turn things around. But comparing frustrated users who voice valid concerns to trolls who shut every discussion down? That’s a reach, man.
Anyway, you do you. ✌️
