Screen protector removal

Dear Colleagues,

After a year of family usage the screen protector on my CMF1 is finished. Has anyone just removed it (or any other protectors off other CMF/NOTHING phones)?

I have read that glass screen protectors have shown that the displays are not entirely flat and often show that air trapped underneath, especially at the edges.

Also, did I catch the CMF1 proximity sensor, when capturing video with the NP3?

Proximity sensor? I initially thought it was a LED notification light like on my Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition.

I have removed my pre-applied screen protector from my Phone 3a after a few scratches showed up.

I bought the "Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit" screen protector as a replacement. After a few days of usage I removed it again because touches are not registered correctly. That could be related to the thickness of the protective glass itself. Although there might be a solution to counter the unresponsiveness. I didn't do any research on that topic though.

That being said, I am now using my Phone 3a without any protection. The feel and responsiveness of the screen now feel great. It's been about a month now and no scratches so far. Although I handle my Phone with care

It sure seems that way. Camera sensors are able to catch IR light.

You clearly captured the working proximity sensor of your phone there. 😉

You can safely remove the pre-applied screen protectors by just peeling it off at one of the four corners and then just remove easily by lifting it off the glass.

What you said is true, sometimes not all glass screens are 100% flat. For example my old BlackBerry Q10 was slightly shallower on the upper right and even after trying four different tempered glass protectors, I couldn't find one which would truly stick on that area, so I went with a standard film protector.

Which one to use is purely up to you, I usually prefer tempered glass to keep the genuine feel of glass, however at least for NP3 I have yet to find a really good one, so I ended up trying and really liking a matte hybrid flexible glass screen protector.

CMF1_hacker i have a glass screen protector and sometimes it causes problem with touch sensitivity… and i don't have problem with flatness or anything like that… it sticks properly on all side… but the tpu cover you're using may cause the tampered glass to peel off around conrners.. i had that problem… i replaced protector with smaller protector and it is going good …it's almost 10 months..

CMF1_hacker yes on the edges there are very slight bumps but for my screen protector they left over time so the bumps went away over time.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I just know that I had some scratches on my old Xiaomi after removing it and the "glass" over the cameras on the back is horrible on the CMF1.

I heard the CMF1 is "panda glass," has anyone run it without a screen protector?

There was a nice shop in Padua that had a device to make matte/glossy protectors and rear cases but I didn't have my CMF1 on hand when I passed by.

From what I've heard online, panda appears to survive regular use the same as gorilla but the difference is only apparent if you do something extreme—dropping it from a moving vehicle for e.g.

Like I stated in my earlier post, I used my Phone 3a without a screen protector for about a month.

I put it down with the screen at the bottom a lot, and I have no scratches so far.

When I transport my phone, I always have a pocket on my pants reserved exclusively for the device.

Also before applying the protector, make sure you clean the surface you put your phone down on thoroughly, because stirred-up dust and hair can land on the screen and thus can reduce the adhesive strength of the glass, and it can lead to pockets of air between the screen and the protector.

I use the Spigen glass screen protectors on my Phone 3a Pro and Phone 3, and are very satisfied with them, no bubbles or anything.

Display seems to be completely flat too

I didn't remove but I really need to replace it🫣 I've got a few "cool" scratches from tables while I was putting my phone screen down and then getting it in hands. And I've also got something like a little lint or something that gets annoying sometimes when I notice it🙄

I want to rip off the hands of those who put this protector so "accurately". Aaarrrgh. Maybe some perfectionists in my place would remove it at first day at all…

I'd like to get a full phone protection as in my city is an ability to cover the phone with armored film. Hope I'll try it before the year ends.
