Pink tint on the antenna strips of the Nothing Phone 3

Mir ist kürzlich aufgefallen, dass sich die Antennenstreifen an den Seiten meines Telefons deutlich rosa verfärbt haben. Ich habe ein Vergleichsfoto mit meinem vorherigen Nothing Phone 2 angehängt. Dieser Farbton löst sich beim Abwischen nicht – es sieht aus wie eine dauerhafte Farbverschiebung. Ich trage keine Kleidung mit ähnlicher Farbe, die Farbe auf die Streifen übertragen könnte. Ich verwende die serienmäßige transparente Silikonhülle und reinige das Telefon nur mit einfachen Feuchttüchern oder Tüchern mit 70 %igem Alkohol ohne Farbstoffe. Was könnte die Ursache dafür sein und gibt es eine Möglichkeit, die ursprüngliche Farbe wiederherzustellen? Hat jemand anderes etwas Ähnliches erlebt? I recently noticed that the antenna strips along the sides of my phone have turned noticeably pink. I’ve attached a comparison photo with my previous Nothing Phone 2. This tint doesn’t come off when wiped - it looks like a permanent color shift.

I don’t wear any clothing of similar color that could transfer dye to the stripes. I use the stock transparent silicone case, and I only clean the phone with plain wet wipes or 70% alcohol wipes without any dyes.

What could have caused this, and is there any way to restore the original color? Has anyone else experienced something similar?

Bur_ger I just went to have a look and they’re dark on my black NP3. I use 70% EtOH made with 18 milliOhm ddH20 and use lab blue roll to wipe them off (all my electronics that go to my office).

contain Aloe juice and that might be staining the plastics as it turns pinks when it oxidises.

I’d check your wet wipes and see whether they have aloe juice in them? it looks some has embedded into the plastic and oxidised to cause a faint pink colour.

This is indeed an unpleasant yet somewhat interesting situation. I’ve never seen anything like it before.

I think it might be due to the phone case changing color and “staining” it, or the alcohol extracting some component from the plastic.

I suggest you try using an eraser; an eraser might be able to remove the color without damaging it.

Humaicai Whoa, such a clever idea with the eraser, big thanks! It really helped, strips are now almost back to normal color. Pink tint is still present, but barely noticeable

So it turns out it was either just some kind of surface stain, or the chemical reaction didn’t get deep into the plastic

CMF1_hacker I checked, and it really does contain aloe. It’s surprising to me that it can make such a drastic effect. If so, even hand creams with aloe or other liquids with organic acids could have caused it

I’ve read news about similar pink tint issues happening with the new iPhones (so much for those saying the NP3 isn’t a “true flagship” - it’s just like the big boys 😁). The explanation there was the same as your suggest

My NP3 turned my clear case purple around the bumps… so maybe something to do with the coating on the frame of the phone?

Could this be caused by a case?

On my white NP3, purchased at release back in July, the antenna strips are still white/grey-ish colored and even by carefully inspecting them under direct lighting I can’t notice any obvious discoloration on my unit.
