I’ve just released a new update for HeyBattery, and wanted to share the highlights for those who have been following the project or testing the earlier versions.
What’s New
This update focuses on improving accuracy, adding real-time charging insights, and refining the overall UI.
Charging Info Overhaul
The app now displays real-time charging power, with readings taken every few seconds while the phone is charging.
Tapping the charging info will now cycle between:
Watt (W)
Volt (V)
Milliampere (mA)
This makes it easy to check the performance of your charger and observe battery behavior during charging.
More Accurate Charge Cycle Tracking
Improved detection of when the phone reaches or exceeds 80%, ensuring timers reset properly when unplugging at higher charge levels.
Fixed a rare issue where Deep Sleep time could show leftover values from a previous charging cycle.
Deep Sleep now displays 0 minutes when valid but empty, and No data yet only when no baseline is available.
Dynamic Refresh System
While charging, the app updates every 3 seconds for smoother power readings.
While not charging, updates occur every 60 seconds to conserve resources.
Updates stop completely when the app goes into the background.
UI and Usability Improvements
Spacing between info sections has been tightened.
About page is now scrollable.
Added a Contributors section.
Updated About page with an explanation of the new charging info cycle.
