I’m posting here because I’m honestly fed up and need help from the community. My Nothing Phone 3a Pro has been giving me a recurring camera issue since the early months of ownership, and the service experience has been terrible.
The Issue:
Vertical moving lines appear randomly in the camera while taking photos/videos — not just in the system app, but also in Snapchat, Instagram, etc. I’ve recorded the problem multiple times because it appears randomly.
Here’s what I’ve gone through so far:
1st Visit – 21 Aug 2025 (F1 Infosolutions & Services, Bodakdev)
They refused to replace the camera. Forced a factory reset + software update. I had to set up the phone again from scratch.
Half my day wasted.
The issue came back.
2nd Visit – Bodakdev Again
Same issue returned. Lines didn’t appear “right at that moment,” so they made me wait even though I had proof. After involving the manager, they replaced the camera.
Another half day wasted.
The issue came back again.
3rd Visit – 25 Nov 2025 (Maninagar)
Bodakdev service center moved, so I had to travel farther. They again wanted to replace the camera + reset the software, even though this has already failed twice. When I suggested it might be the motherboard, they refused to consider it unless the lines appear in front of them. They even said they could get a “penalty” for sending the device without proving the issue.
Another half day gone.
Still no long-term fix.

Nothing Support’s Response
They gave me the usual apology and said the issue is “resolved.”
It isn’t, because this problem keeps coming back repeatedly.
Then they added:
If your device goes out of warranty, charges will apply.
Which is unacceptable. Why should I pay later for a hardware defect that has been there since the beginning? I didn’t drop the phone, didn’t damage it, didn’t expose it to water — nothing. If this keeps coming back, it’s clearly a faulty unit.
I asked them directly:
If the issue comes again after warranty ends, will Nothing cover the repair or replacement?
No clear answer. Just generic replies.

My Questions to the Community:
Has anyone faced camera line issues or recurring hardware defects on Nothing devices?
What did your service center do?
Did anyone get a full device replacement for repeated hardware faults?
What steps should I take next when support gives vague or copy-paste responses?
Can Nothing be held responsible for defects that reappear after the warranty, especially when they existed from early ownership?
I’m honestly at the point where I feel like I was sold a faulty phone, and after three service visits, resets, and camera replacements, Nothing still hasn’t fixed the root cause.
Any advice or shared experiences would help a lot. I’m tired of wasting full days traveling to service centers for the same issue again and again.
Thanks in advance to anyone who replies.
