I’m facing an issue with USB-C wired earphones on my CMF Phone 1.
I’m using JBL Tune 310C Hi-Res USB-C earphones (with built-in DAC).
The mic behaviour is very inconsistent:
During normal phone calls, the mic does not work at all — the phone switches to the built-in microphone.
In recording apps, the mic sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. When it does work, it usually stops again after reconnecting.
Audio playback always works fine, only the mic is affected.
To confirm it’s not a hardware problem, I tested:
Same JBL earphones on other phones → mic works perfectly
Boat Type-C earphones on CMF Phone 1 → mic works fine on calls So the issue seems to be related specifically to high-resolution USB-C DAC earphones on CMF Phone 1.
It looks like the phone is not activating the USB-C external mic profile for calls, and recorder apps detect the mic only occasionally. This might be a USB-C audio/mic routing or telephony profile issue.
