So I’m sitting at my desk, minding my own business, when my phone starts vibrating like it’s trying to summon a demon. Notifications left, right, center. I swear even my wallpaper was judging me at this point.
I yeeted the phone face-down because girl, I needed peace.
And then my brain went: “Remember when life didn’t constantly scream at you?”
Like… wow ok, attack me emotionally.
On impulse, I grabbed this old book I used to read as a kid. The cover is hanging on by trauma and nostalgia, but it still hits harder than any modern dopamine device. I plopped it right where my phone usually sits. Same spot. Different vibe. Suddenly the whole room felt like it downgraded to 144p in the cutest way possible.
And honestly? It felt kinda wholesome.
No pings.
No notifications.
Just paper trying its best.
For 5 minutes I wasn’t in 2025. I was back in that era where your biggest problem was losing your bookmark, not losing your sanity.
So yeah, this photo is basically me swapping my phone with a book and instantly unlocking “peace mode.”
A tiny throwback moment on my desk.
