I live in South Africa, so no local support.
A day or two after applying the latest Nothing OS4 update my 27 month old Nothing 2 suddenly froze and crashed.
NOTHING Crashdump Mode (minidump)
reset reason: gobbledygook
Collecting reset reason, device will reboot later …
which it doesn’t.
I have tried to Force Restart it (Start, Restart Bootloader and Recovery Mode - see below) but it only achieves the same crash result.
Fastboot Mode
PRODUCT_NAME - taro
VARIANT - SM_ UFS
BOOTLOADER VERSION - 00979.4-WAIPIO-1
BASEBAND VERSION - 01026.2-WAIPIO_GEN_PACK-1

DDR -12288MB HYNIX LPDDR5

DEVICE STATE - locked
Previously, for 4 months, the phone lost WiFi on reboot or sporadically out of the blue.
But it would connect again after an hour or more.
I googled many solutions for this but also none helped.
So I don’t know if it was pending hardware failure, or the latest update to Nothing OS 4 (which I see has been paused) that caused this latest crash (never seen before on any phone in 30 years).
Very disappointing, as I have a highly customised UI / setup that I am now unable to replicate on a new Nothing (3) which I have ordered from Amazon US (because I love Nothing OS / close to stock Android).
Is there any way to bring the Nothing (2) back to life?
