Hallo zusammen! Ich wünsche allen ein frohes Jahr 2026! Nutzen wir dies als Megathread für die Wunschliste für das kommende Jahr. In diesem Thread geht es darum, coole neue Funktionen, Korrekturen und Verbesserungen für das Betriebssystem Nothing vorzuschlagen, wenn wir über Version 4.0 hinausgehen. Das Team von Nothing war äußerst aufgeschlossen und offen für Benutzerfeedback, daher ist dies unsere Chance, unserer Stimme Gehör zu verschaffen. So right now when I wanna use a light colour wallpaper on my phone. the clock also stays white.

instead we can try to have a dark coloured clockface for light coloured wallpapers and so on. and later this can support colour change for clockfaces with custom colours, patterns and gradients

There is one small, quality-of-life feature missing from the Camera app that makes hands-free selfies quite frustrating: a Palm or Wave Gesture to trigger the shutter.

The Problem: Right now, taking a distant selfie or a large group photo requires setting a countdown timer and sprinting into frame, or awkwardly stretching your thumb to hit the volume rocker, which often causes camera shake.

The Solution: Add a simple toggle in the Camera settings: “Gesture Shutter.”. When enabled, showing your open palm or giving a quick wave to the front camera initiates a 2-second or 3-second countdown.

I am writing to suggest a highly useful quality-of-life feature for CMF Phone users who prefer to keep automatic brightness turned off.

The Problem:

Many users (including myself) prefer to manage their brightness manually to prevent constant, aggressive shifting during normal indoor use. However, when stepping out into intense, direct sunlight, the manual slider’s maximum level is often not bright enough to make the screen readable. This forces users to manually re-enable auto-brightness every time they go outside, and disable it again when they come back indoors (And we user mostly forget to do that and suffer).

The Feature Request:

Introduce a “Sunlight Mode” (or Outdoor Boost) toggle under Settings > Display.

When auto-brightness is turned OFF, enabling this toggle allows the phone’s ambient light sensor to detect intense outdoor light. If intense sunlight is detected, the phone temporarily boosts the screen to its maximum outdoor peak brightness.

Right now, tapping the Screen Record tile in the Quick Settings menu opens a multi-step configuration dialog box asking for recording scope (single app vs. full screen) and audio source every single time. It is too slow for capturing quick moments.

Proposed Solution:

Make the Screen Recorder tile remember our last chosen settings.

Single Tap: Instantly starts recording using our previous configuration (e.g., Whole Screen + Device Audio).

Long Press: Opens the configuration dialog box if a user needs to change audio sources or application targets.

Currently in Nothing OS Gallery, if I want to share a photo or video located in the Hidden Folder, I have to manually unhide the file, go back to the main library, share it, and then move it back into the hidden folder. This ruins the workflow and takes too many steps.

Proposed Solution: Please add a native “Share” button inside the Hidden Folder. Clicking it should request fingerprint or PIN verification first, and then allow us to share the file directly to external apps without having to unhide the asset completely.

Subject: Feature Request: Retain “Locked” Apps in Memory When Executing “Clear All”

Description: I would like to request an improvement regarding the background app management behavior. Currently, when the “Clear All” button is pressed in the recent apps overview, all applications—including the ones explicitly “locked” or “pinned” by the user—are forcefully closed.

Current Behavior & Issue (As-Is): If a user is listening to music or a podcast while having multiple other apps open, tapping “Clear All” to clean up the interface immediately kills the audio playback app. The current locking mechanism does not prevent the app from being closed by the “Clear All” command, defeating the purpose of locking an app in the first place.

Proposed Solution (To-Be): Integration of a functional “App Lock” system within the Recent Apps view:

Once a user locks an app, a visual lock indicator should appear.
Tapping the “Clear All” button must clear all unrestricted background apps while leaving the locked apps running uninterrupted in the background.
Locked apps should only be dismissible if the user manually swipes them away.

User Benefit:

Uninterrupted User Experience: Media streaming, navigation, or critical background downloads will not be abruptly cut off.
Better Memory Control: Gives users manual agency over which processes should remain persistent in the RAM.

Subject: Feature Request: Implementation of “Separate App Sound” and Multi-Audio Focus

Description: I would like to request an advanced audio management feature that allows the device to play audio from multiple sources simultaneously and manage volume controls on a per-app basis.

Current Behavior & Issue (As-Is): The current operating system enforces a strict, single-channel Audio Focus policy. When a user is playing music in the background and opens a second app that contains audio (such as social media feeds, mobile games, or browsers), the background audio automatically pauses.

The UX Problem: Users often want to browse social media or watch short videos/clips purely for the visual content (with the video muted or kept low) while keeping their background music playing. Currently, even if the foreground video is muted, the background music is forced to stop.

Proposed Solution (To-Be): Introducing a “Multi-Audio Support” and “App-Specific Volume Slider” feature:

Simultaneous Audio Playback (Multi-Audio): Allow two different apps to output audio simultaneously without the primary app being automatically paused.
Independent Volume Control (Sound Assistant): Pressing the physical volume keys should expand into a panel allowing users to adjust the volume levels of individual active apps independently (e.g., Background Music at 30%, Foreground Game at 70%).
Advanced Audio Routing (Optional): Allowing users to route the primary music app to Bluetooth headphones while routing foreground system/app sounds to the device speaker.

User Benefit:

Flexible Multimedia Experience: Users can easily browse muted or subtitled videos on social media without interrupting their primary music or podcast stream.
Granular Control: Offers a tailored audio experience customized to the user’s multitasking habits.

First of all, love the clean and unique approach of Nothing OS — it really stands out from other Android skins.

I had a suggestion for a future update: it would be amazing to see a Dynamic Island–style feature (like interactive notifications around the front camera). It could show things like music playback, calls, timers, charging status, etc., in a minimal and Nothing-style design.

If implemented in your own signature transparent + dot-matrix style, it could become a standout feature and enhance both usability and aesthetics.

Would love to see Nothing bring its own creative twist to this idea rather than just copying — something fresh and uniquely “Nothing.”
