Depth Effect (Layered) Wallpapers for Nothing OS & CMF
Subject: Enhancing the Lock Screen: Request for Depth Effect / Wallpaper Layering
The Idea:
I am proposing the addition of a Depth Effect for lock screen wallpapers on Nothing and CMF devices. This feature would use AI-driven image segmentation to identify the subject of a photo (people, buildings, or pets) and layer it slightly in front of the lock screen clock.
Why it fits Nothing OS:
Aesthetic Alignment: Nothing OS is built on a foundation of “Digital Health” and “Functional Aesthetics.” Adding depth would make the lock screen feel premium and immersive without adding clutter.
Hardware Synergy: Our devices have excellent displays with deep blacks; a depth effect would truly make the Nothing dot-matrix typography pop against the background.
CMF Vibrancy: For CMF users, this adds a layer of personalization and “fun” that aligns with the brand’s colorful and bold identity.
Technical Suggestion:
The system could allow users to toggle the “Depth Effect” on high-quality images where a clear foreground subject is detected, similar to the implementation seen in modern mobile interfaces, but styled with Nothing’s unique font and widget identity.
