Ich habe gerade vor ein paar Stunden Nothing OS 4.0 auf meinem CMF Phone 2 Pro installiert. Obwohl ich mit den UI-Änderungen und Funktionen im Vergleich zu Nothing OS 3.0 zufrieden war, fiel mir auf, dass es diese System-App namens „AppServices“ gab. Mir ist es nur aufgefallen, weil plötzlich eine Benachrichtigung erschien, während ich mein Telefon benutzte. Obwohl ich die Tatsache zu schätzen weiß, dass die umstrittene Funktion „Lock Glimpse“ standardmäßig deaktiviert ist, bin ich enttäuscht, dass die Aufnahme dieser neuen App nicht einmal im Änderungsprotokoll des Updates veröffentlicht wurde.

Disabling “AppServices” is actually beneficial because it gets rid of the annoying notification from the app. Additionally, disabling “AppServices” does not have any negative impact on the phone’s battery life.

Apps installed by “AppServices” are actually installed by its own store, not the Play Store.

+1 Same to me. It happened after I update my CMF 2 pro to OS 4.0. This is so very disappointed to me. I bought this phone for purely clean phone but why got this!?

Yeah seriously disappointed i bought the phone for a clean software that’s what they promised now they are turning on their own promises day by day.

First they promised clean bloat free software to all device. Now they added bloatware like lock glimpse which apparantly tracks your data and sells it to some chinese companies and if you disable it, since in system files it is in some priority section if you disable it it tries to restart every 3 secs and eats you phones resources eating away your battery.(Read it in some post on the community) And now app services which makes you download shitty third party apps.

They promised good cameras and made fun of companies who put 2MP macros calling them useless and now they put it in the phone 3a lite themselves.

God knows whats next on the list

itsadnanali now you can disable it. It is just an third party app Installer and disabling it will not affect your device

I recently updated my CMF phone 1 to nos 4.0

Then I checked upon it. I was greeted with:

Totally normal. I clicked on it, and it started recommending apps to install:

I thought of it as a malware/spyware at first. So I googled it. To my surprise i saw another CMF phone 1 user with the same issue after nos4.0.

It is a bloatware.

I confirmed it. It was truly a bloatware shipped to the famous clean, transparent bloatfree nos.

Anyways, what do you think about this? Is nothing falling back on promises. We all slightly agreed with the lock glimpse. I haven’t. But this?

I am going to force stop it myself. This app is hidden, btw.

I am now thinking about what the future of nothing is gonna be

Anyways. If it is even just another malware/spyware. Pls tell me.

Clonq0 It is spyware, if you go into it and read the user agreement it says it can access almost everything in your phone including your location. It’s the worst type of spyware

I’ve had the 4.0 update for a while now without this but also got the same notification today. After dismissing it I got it twice again before disabling notifications. Not 🔥 nothing.

Guys,

I have force stopped the app.

Eventhough it is termed a “system app”, I don’t think it does anything rather than send bloat notifications.

I personally bought the phone because it was clean. I hadn’t need to fear downloading some random app with a jumpscare due to bloat ware.

Guess it still is a dream.

To Nothing:

It isn’t too late to admit it a mistake. Pls. Let’s go back to the way things were. We didn’t ask you to add top notch features for bloatware. I personally, was so terrified and thought of this bloatware as some malicious app.

Let’s make tech fun again. Not terrifying. Not bloatfull.

And, you people realize that the only reason you were becoming a part of the industry is due to the clean ui, don’t you? If you don’t then it’s time we see the end of nothing. *Shucks, I was getting excited with this company

I have found out the reason Nothing team is not addressing the issue with this hidden appservices.

becasue they cleverly mentioned about this in one of their post about rolling out pre installed apps & lock glimpse with an update in the post dating 30oct 2025.

Maybe we don’t notice but that thing was said it would be rolled out to phone 3a lite only, but here we are ( non pro user) are getting the bloatware.

They have also mentioned about how to disable it also.

They thought we wouldn’t notice.

But I have found out this recently.

I don’t know why they have to be so secretive about their plan!!

Nothing O.S 4.0 brought improvements and everything but the addition of glance , app services (aura something) have been very bad move.

Nothing OS was supposed to be minimal, free of unnecessary apps and stuff but now?
