I’ve been using the Nothing Ear (3) as my main earbuds for a bit over 20 days, and coming directly from the Ear (2024), I didn’t expect one specific feature to change how I use them every day, but Super Mic absolutely did.
This is very much a real-world, daily-use perspective, not a technical breakdown.

Sound: more open, more relaxed 🎧
The sound signature feels more open and balanced than on Ear (2024).
Bass is present but controlled, vocals are clearer, and the overall tuning feels less “busy.” I can listen for long periods without fatigue, which wasn’t always the case before.
It’s not about wow-factor, it’s about comfort and consistency.

ANC: smarter, less noticeable 🔈
ANC feels more stable in motion.
Walking through the city, moving between environments, or being in public transport, the noise cancellation adapts smoothly without drawing attention to itself. It doesn’t constantly remind you it’s working, and that’s a good thing.

Super Mic: genuinely game-changing 🎙️
This is easily the most impressive part of Ear (3) for me.
I didn’t think I’d use the case microphone much at first… but now I use it all the time. Calls in noisy environments are on another level compared to previous Nothing earbuds. I’ve taken calls on busy streets, in cafés, even near traffic, and people consistently tell me I sound surprisingly clear.
What I really like is how natural it feels to use. You just bring the case closer, press the button, and suddenly your voice cuts through everything around you. It’s one of those features that sounds niche on paper but makes perfect sense once you try it.
If you:
take a lot of calls on the go
send voice notes
join quick meetings from your phone
…Super Mic alone can justify the upgrade.

Final thoughts after 20 days
The Nothing Ear (3) doesn’t try to reinvent the category, instead, it polishes the experience where it matters most.
Sound is more refined, ANC is more consistent, and Super Mic genuinely changes how usable these earbuds are for communication. Compared to Ear (2024), everything feels more confident and better thought-out.
If you mainly listen to music at home, the upgrade might feel subtle.
But if you live in calls, voice messages, and real-world noise, Ear (3) feels like a meaningful step forward.
