Ongoing Frustrations With Nothing OS and Support

Ich teile dies aus wachsender Frustration und dem Wunsch nach klaren Antworten und Verantwortlichkeit, nicht nach allgemeinen Antworten zur Fehlerbehebung. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt besteht der größte Teil meiner „Vergnügung“ als Nothing-Benutzer darin, dass ich selbst in Foren bin und Probleme behebe, und nicht darin, die Geräte tatsächlich wie vorgesehen zu verwenden. Es macht mir nichts aus, mich zu vertiefen, zu testen und bei der Diagnose von Problemen zu helfen, aber dies ohne echtes Engagement, Anerkennung oder die Absicht, die Probleme zu beheben, wird anstrengend. Vor allem die „Atmosphäre“ der Toxizität, die die Marke umgibt, macht es noch schwieriger, anderen hier helfen zu wollen. Meine allgemeinen Probleme beim Ausführen von NOS auf drei separaten Geräten (CMF1, CMFP2P, Telefon 3(a)): 1. Das Feedbacksystem ist defekt Das offizielle Feedback-Einreichungstool auf den Telefonen von Nothing war lange Zeit nicht funktionsfähig und wurde nicht sinnvoll behoben. Das ist besonders frustrierend, weil: * Dies ist die primäre, beworbene Methode zur Übermittlung strukturierten Feedbacks * Benutzer werden stattdessen auf Foren und soziale Plattformen gedrängt * Es gibt keine Bestätigung, dass Feedback empfangen, verfolgt oder überprüft wird An diesem Punkt fühlt es sich rückwärts an … fast so, als würde den Nutzern die direkteste und verantwortungsvollste Art und Weise, Feedback zu geben, entzogen, während Nothing einfach nur die Hand hebt. „Na ja, wir haben aus einem bestimmten Grund eine Community?“ 2. Gaming-Treiber / 120-Hz-Regression Seit dem Update auf Nothing OS 4.0 ist die Spieleleistung deutlich zurückgegangen. Auf mehreren Nothing-Geräten: * Spiele sind bei aktiver Touch-Eingabe auf 60 Hz begrenzt * Das Display zeigt im Leerlauf möglicherweise 120 Hz an, sinkt jedoch bei Interaktion sofort auf 60 Hz * Entwickleroptionen und ADB-Methoden, die zuvor funktionierten, funktionieren nicht mehr Dieses Verhalten trat vor NOS 4.0 nicht auf und tritt auch nicht auf konkurrierenden Android-Geräten auf, auf denen die gleichen Spiele laufen, und auf Apple-Geräten. High-Refresh-Panels sind für Spiele und flüssige Betriebssysteme konzipiert, ein Hauptgrund für den Besitz eines 120-Hz-Displays. Wenn Spiele tatsächlich nicht über 60 Hz laufen können und das Betriebssystem in vielen anderen Szenarien 60 Hz erzwingt, wirft das eine sehr reale Frage auf: **Was ist der Sinn des 120-Hz-Panels? 🤔** 3. Support und Kommunikation waren miserabel Bisherige Support-Interaktionen waren: * Langsam * Vage * Wiederholt Konzentriert sich auf die Fehlerbehebung auf Oberflächenebene Was fehlt, ist Transparenz. Es gibt keine eindeutige Bestätigung, ob dieses Aktualisierungsratenverhalten folgende Ursachen hat: * Eine bekannte Regression * Eine absichtliche Änderung * Aktiv untersucht Der Mangel an Kommunikation ist frustrierender als der Fehler selbst. Ich bitte nicht um Problemumgehungen oder Skriptantworten. Ich bitte um Klarheit: Ist das 60-Hz-Spielverhalten in NOS 4.0 eine bekannte Regression? Ist es Absicht oder ein Mangel? Wenn es sich um einen Defekt handelt, wird dieser intern anerkannt und nachverfolgt? Der Stil von Nothing und die High-Refresh-Geräte mit niedrigerem Preis waren ein Hauptgrund, warum ich mich für Nothing entschieden habe. Wenn diese Funktionalität herabgestuft oder effektiv entfernt wird, muss dies klar angegeben werden. Ich möchte bei der Marke bleiben, aber im Moment wird dies immer schwieriger, da es an Sorgfalt, Transparenz und der offensichtlichen Absicht fehlt, Probleme anzugehen. Mein letzter Gedanke lautet: Der langfristige Erfolg eines Unternehmens hängt nicht davon ab, wie schnell es neue Hardware auf den Markt bringt, sondern davon, wie gut es das unterstützt und pflegt, was die Leute bereits besitzen. Es handelt sich um eine Balance und nicht um eine Einstellung, die die Behebung von Problemen und die Unterstützung der Benutzer in den Hintergrund stellt. Sie verkaufen Loyalität nicht, indem Sie ständig die nächste Technologie vorantreiben (von Ihnen 3a Lite), Sie verkaufen sie, indem Sie sicherstellen, dass Ihre Produkte benutzbar, zuverlässig und unterstützt sind. Wenn dieses Gleichgewicht nicht korrigiert wird, wird der Abstand größer und das Aufholspiel wird nur noch schwieriger, und Nothing wird fallen.

It is sad. I remember being very excited when I got my first Nothing Phone. For once I thought I was owing a device made by a true, honest company. But I guess not now. Genuinely considering switching back to my old Pixel 6a until I get something better. I do know however that there’s a high probability that I will never buy a nothing product again after this.

Sad they’ve literally left us with a buggy “stable” release for a month now without even any communication as wo what is going on.

Instead we just get the usual flood of community “reviews” and other crap

I like the design and overall idea behind Nothing, and I was even planning to buy the Buds Pro 2.

However, due to the following issues, I’m now seriously considering selling the phone and not going ahead with the buds:

1. Delayed app updates

Google Play and apps like Instagram receive feature updates much later than on other Android phones.

2. Unnecessary refresh-rate limits

120 Hz on the home screen, 90 Hz in apps, and 60 Hz in games doesn’t make sense when the hardware can handle more.

3. Battery life regression after Nothing OS 4.0

Battery performance clearly worsened after the update with similar usage.

I hope this feedback is acknowledged and addressed in future updates.

IMO Buds Pro 2’s are stellar. Wait on a deal. They are usually $47 USD on Amazon in states. Otherwise concur about phones. They regressed significantly on NOS 4.0

Yeah, I have a family CMF1, then I have a CMF2P and 3a my family uses. I am going to replace them most likely, with something more supported for my family. The inconsistent frames during navigation and gaming is unacceptable. Removed the whole purpose of a budget 120hz panel, to reach 120hz for navigation fluidity and gaming.

Nope, never got anywhere. Always the monotone, “We have reached out to teams” then nothing else. About over it tbh. I am fine with the Nothing X software, it works great. I like my peripherals (watch, buds, cmf headphone) but the phones are a buggy mess and it just isn’t enjoyable in its current state.

If you use it as your main device, I absolutely would. Any other major brand would support you better than Nothing. If you are fine with the bugs and this is more a secondary phone to you, understandable to keep, but I personally would not run a Nothing phone as my primary mobile.

Plus, if you have other peripherals, Nothing X is available on whatever brand you would be switching to. You really are trading it for support, but at least you are not locked-in with a watch/buds.

anyways, about the phone, what phone brand you would suggest other than samsung and pixel, tbh pixel is a high priority for me because I liked the semi-raw android experience.

and also, for the earbuds, is the cmf buds pro 2 really worth it? if there is actually a better option at the same price range

I’ve heard good things about the EarFun and OnePlus buds, but I picked up the Buds Pro 2 back in April 2025 and they’ve been rock solid for me. I travel every other week, keep them in a case, and they’ve held up really well. I genuinely enjoy using them.

As for phones, my primary device right now is the S25 Ultra. I both like it and don’t, if that makes sense. I was on iOS my entire life (3GS → 5 → 6s → 11 → 14 Pro Max) before switching to the S25 Ultra at launch last February. I definitely have frustrations, but the overall Samsung experience always feels complete. It’s miles ahead of Nothing in terms of stability and polish.

When I first moved from iOS to Android, I actually really enjoyed Nothing devices. But the issues introduced with OS 4.0, and more importantly, the lack of acknowledgment or engagement, feel like a turning point. Ignoring customers and failing to even address known issues has been incredibly frustrating. The fact that the official feedback tool remains broken and unaddressed only makes it worse; at this point, it almost feels intentional.

I wish I could share firsthand thoughts on Pixel, but I haven’t used one yet, so I can’t speak to that experience honestly.
