PREET AJMERI the BOM for all of those 3 models is nearly double your suggested price. Those are specs that demand at least a 600€ price tag to be doable, not 250€.

The design is great, and I said on your earlier thread it’s the best looking phone I’ve seen in a while; though I prefer the colours in your original design.

I’m less interested in getting right into the detail of selecting chipsets, etc, for a theoretical device, but I’m all for having a compact phone with flagship specs. I think you got it right by going for 6.1 inches. Definitely no bigger, but could be smaller.

And totally agree: the point isn’t obsessing over spec sheets, it’s about the idea — a proper compact phone with flagship-level performance, not a compromised one. 6.1 inches feels like the upper limit for true one-handed use; anything bigger stops feeling compact. Going slightly smaller could actually make it even more special.

That balance — compact size, serious performance, thoughtful design — is exactly what’s missing in the market right now.

M3Mz That’s a fair concern, and I agree that flagship-grade specs aren’t cheap to build. But I think there’s a bit of a disconnect between traditional BOM assumptions and what’s actually possible today.

A few points worth considering:

BOM ≠ retail price — pricing is heavily influenced by margins, marketing, distribution, and brand positioning.
Efficient, newer chipsets (like Snapdragon 8s-class silicon) exist specifically to deliver near-flagship performance at lower cost than full flagship SoCs.
Brands like Nothing/CMF already operate with leaner marketing, fewer SKUs, and online-first sales, which helps keep prices down.
We’ve already seen multiple phones deliver flagship-adjacent performance well below €600, even in compact or semi-compact forms.

I’m not arguing for a €250 phone with true flagship everything — that’s unrealistic. The idea is a smartly balanced compact device: flagship-level performance where it matters most, sensible compromises elsewhere, and pricing that reflects value, not just spec inflation.

That middle ground is exactly what’s missing right now.

But I will surely see your suggestion, thanks for your thought!

If you want specs that fit the price range, maybe this is it:

Cameras:

Nothing crazy, a decent main camera, usable ultrawide and a telephoto that at least is better than digital zoom. Probably 50mp Main, 8mp UW, 25-50mp TP

SoC- for all 3 models, a 7000 series Dimensity or a 6 series Snapdragon reaches what people want at this price point.

8gb RAM is probably too low if the goal is overall performance. A slightly downgraded SoC but with 12gb would be more balanced.
