Hi Nothing community,
Iām reporting a reproducible network issue on CMF Phone (1) with Airtel, observed after recent Nothing OS updates.
Issue summary:
⢠Phone shows 5G connected
⢠However, daily 4G data quota is consumed rapidly
⢠Once daily data is exhausted:
# 5G completely stops working
# Unlimited 5G does NOT continue
Critical observation (with evidence):
While uploading Nothing network/debug logs (~142.79 MB / 0.14 GB):
⢠My daily data usage jumped:
# from \~50%
# to 90%
# and then close to 100%
⢠Airtel sent multiple data-usage alerts during this short upload
⢠This data consumption is disproportionate to the actual upload size.

At the same time:
⢠5G icon was active
⢠Network batching / aggregation was ON
This strongly suggests that:
⢠Data is being charged as metered 4G, despite 5G being shown.
Additional regression:
⢠Earlier versions had a āSmart 5Gā option in SIM/network settings
⢠This option is now missing after update
⢠After its removal, this issue started occurring again.
Steps already tried:
⢠5G enabled
⢠Manual preferred network selection (5G )
⢠Network reset
⢠Device restart
⢠Software up to date
Issue still persists.
