Hi everyone! I had some free time today and decided to put together a small concept for a future Nothing Gallery update. Our current gallery is very basic, which is definitely a plus, but a few extra features wouldn’t hurt.
First off, I’ve introduced some elements to give the UI a bit more character: photo previews now feature slightly rounded corners, and the floating bottom bar uses the blur effect that Nothing often features on its website. This also aligns with the Android 17 rumors, which suggest blur will be a major aesthetic trend for the ‘Green Robot.’
There are two main features: the first, which I find incredibly useful, is the ability to create Memory Albums. These albums group photos and videos selected by the user, featuring a title, a date, and the option to add locations and text notes. Albums will appear directly within the camera roll, but you can also view them all together in a dedicated space. To make this work, what are currently called ‘Albums’ will now be renamed Folders.
Another cool feature is the addition of AI-curated Stories. You can watch them as they are or turn them into an album that you can fully customize.
I hope you find this interesting! I really hope Nothing continues to develop more first-party apps that integrate seamlessly with each other and with third-party ecosystems.
I’ll be working on more screens in the coming days (I love analyzing and improving apps!). Cheers! 😃
