Hi everyone,
I’m a software developer based in Bengaluru, and I’ve been experimenting with the Nothing Playground as part of the Essential Lab Season 1. Living in a city defined by “organized chaos,” I realized that while GPS is powerful, it often lacks the visual context we need for daily life.
I’m excited to share my prototype: N-Trace.

The Core Idea
We often rely on our memory to bridge the gap between a location and an object.
Existing hardware solutions like AirTags are great, but they aren’t feasible for temporary spots or every small item you own. N-Trace is a software-first “Save Button” for reality.
How it Works (The Macro & The Micro)
🛵 Macro (The City): You park in a chaotic Indiranagar street. Tap the widget to snap a photo and lock the GPS. Later, use the coordinates to navigate back and the photo to identify your vehicle.
🔑 Micro (The Home): You put your keys down. Snap a quick trace. The photo becomes your visual anchor—no navigation needed, just a memory jog.
Design & Tech Stack
Nothing Playground: Built as a functional prototype using React + TypeScript.
Zero Friction: I designed this specifically as a Widget because an app would be too slow. One tap wakes the Camera + GPS stream instantly.
Privacy First: To stay true to Nothing’s philosophy, all data is stored 100% locally on the device

I’d love to hear your thoughts on this! Is a “Spatial Memory” tool something you’d consider an Essential part of Nothing OS?
Special thanks to the @Nothing team for the opportunity to build this during the Lab.
