JP Even with Extra Dim/Dark enabled and Night Light set to maximum, the display still isn’t soothing enough for extended nighttime use. As mentioned earlier, the core issue seems to be the color temperature limit — Nothing phones appear to stay around ~3500K, whereas other brands go much warmer (below ~2700K), which is far easier on the eyes.
As a temporary workaround, I’ve installed a third-party app (Night Shift–type). While it does reduce eye strain, these apps simply place a yellow overlay on the screen rather than properly recalibrating the display. This makes colors look washed out and unnatural, which affects overall usability.
If the system-level Night Light were stronger, it could adjust brightness, contrast, gamma, and color balance holistically instead of just adding a tint. That would provide genuine eye comfort while maintaining usable color accuracy — something only a native implementation can do.
It would make nighttime usage significantly more comfortable and eliminate the need for imperfect third-party solutions.
Max M As mentioned earlier, Settings->Feedback sent twice in 6 months. As usual generic reply without consideration
