I understand the excitement around the new phone, but I’d like to point out some serious shortcomings,

there’s no 12/512 MB option (at this point, phones with only 128 MB really shouldn’t be a thing anymore)
the ultrawide camera is just 8 MP (really quite poor)
only 3 major OS updates (and the first one will arrive by the end of the year, so only 2 will remain)

in my opinion, it’s a phone that already feels outdated at launch.

InzeabChakma I agree with this point, however if the (4a) Pro were to have 512GB storage, it would be on par with the Phone (3) for similar and maybe better specs, at a much cheaper price. It seems that Nothing tried to make the (4a) Pro so much like a flagship that they may have killed off any potential buyers of the more expensive Phone (3) for a cheaper and potentially more powerful (4a) Pro.

PinoLY When the Phone 3a series launched around the same time as the 4a series now, there were only a few months left until Nothing used one of those 3yrs of OS updates for NOS 4.0 beta. Also, I see quite a lot of Samsung Phoens still have 64GB storage and 6GB RAM, so don’t feel let down, as 256GB is good for most people, as if 512GB was introduced, then the price of the (4a) Pro would be the same price level with the Phone (3) during discounts.

I personally like 4a design 4a pro also good but pricing too much higher for given specs I’m using xiaomi 14 civi and it’s 8s gen 3 under 30k with 12+512gb awesome camera,yeah 2x optical zoom but I get usable pics at 8x also battery 4700mah feels low as compared to 4a series but that’s fine and also what other’s camera sensor in 4a series nothing not mentioned

Yeah, the Phone (4a) series — especially the Pro — feels like a big design shift from previous Nothing phones. No more Glyph Lights (looks like they really killed it), a new Glyph Bar, and the larger Glyph Matrix we saw on Phone (3).

I’m honestly quite surprised that the Phone (4a) Pro dropped the transparent back. I can see why some people say this might be a strategy to appeal to more iPhone users.

Reading through, it truly seems that the (4a) Pro is like Marmite…

I have to admit, at first I really didn’t like the design, I saw it a while ago and my one word review was “Lost”.

Seeing the design of the (4a) Series together, I can see the links, the subtle nods to metal on the (4a) and then the Pro really goes crazy with the unibody design.

It’s a design that is growing on me, and I am sure it will feel amazing in hand. Hope that the lack of transparency isn’t a continuous trend, however.
