harman (a)
the one you leave on…without thinking about it
Been testing this after micro (a), flow (a), and edge (a)
This one isn’t trying to impress you
It just sounds…right
Harman (a) isn’t about adding bass…it’s about making bass feel like it belongs there.
The bass is full but controlled, kick drums hit clean (Michael Jackson - Billie Jean test passed) sub-bass layers without turning into a blur (Massive Attack - Angel) vocals sit naturally, not pushed, not recessed Nothing feels exaggerated.
This is that room-like bass + natural mids + relaxed top.
I got rid of the boomy and shouty characteristics of the Harman target curve; when the mid-bass isn’t controlled and when the 3kHz isn’t smoothed without breaking the sound.
Just balanced in a way your brain trusts immediately.
If edge (a) is controlled aggression
this is controlled reality.
The one you leave on
and forget you even changed anything.
What track would you test this with?
