If Nothing already struggles with camera and battery optimization (as you mentioned), the absolute minimum they can do to “earn and repay” our trust is to provide long-term software support. When a brand fails at both optimization AND long-term support, they lose their community.
That is the core of my argument: Nothing positions itself as a “community-first” brand. If they abandon their 2023 flagship while supporting budget models, they aren’t just failing a technical update - they are failing their identity.
You say trust has to be earned with concrete solutions. Confirming Android 17 for the Phone (2) is the most concrete, low-cost solution they have right now to stop the exodus of users to other brands.
We aren’t just asking for a version number; we are asking for a reason to stay with Nothing for our next purchase.
